For flat color sketch commissions like this one, I usually try to keep the sketch a bit cleaner!

SURPRISE! This post has been made available to all patrons! :DAs you can see, more depth was added to the second page, and Gage was made to be bigger to help add to that feeling of depth! This helps make the tree in the background look ten times the size of the one I drew before. :3

Originally the background in the last panel looked differently! But when the commissioner said he wanted a big tree. he wanted a really, REALLY big tree. XD So I redid it in the sketch phase. You'll see when that's posted in an hour!

These were the original lines before I tied it down and adjusted a few things! Also no stripes because it was quicker to just add them later.

Vacation Time
I'm going to be taking a 2-3 week vacation at the end of November, as I'll be having a friend visit for my birthday! And here's the sketch! One small change I made (that wasn't drawing related) was adding a little internal monologue for Nes. I was worried maybe people wouldn't realize why he chose this strategy suddenly (even though it was foreshadowed earlier), so I added it in here just in case.

Image #1: What I posted!Image #2: A version that doesn't have the subtle airbrushing on it. Slaughter preferred the one I posted (of course), but this kind of gives you a little insight into what I do for my cartooning work. Even if you don't ask for airbrush shading on a commission, I almost always add a little bit just to give the character a little more depth. :3
Little Runt Update
Page 15 of Little Runt will be out tonight at 6PM CDT for Tier IV+ patrons! It's my favorite page yet, so I can't wait for you guys to see it. :3Page 14 will also be up on Twitter, DeviantArt and Tumblr sometime this evening, although there's no specific time for those.

Always happy to draw some otters. :3Also normally I struggle with characters hugging, but this one came out rather easily.

Here's a preview of H-Nighthawk's next comic page, and a little behind the scenes!Believe it or not, I use two different colors for eyes and white fur! White fur I tend to make a darker shade of grey compared to brighter white eyes. However, when I have to color in the eyes of a character with white fur, I gotta use a different color like this. :3 I change it to a bright white afterwards by locking the transparent pixels and filling!

One new thing I'm going to try this month: sneak peaks and previews at upcoming art for everyone in Tier IV and V. Double post day!And here's the refined sketch! I quite like how this turned out. :3 The second image is a version where Gage didn't have any hair. At first I thought he looked better without it, but looking back, it fits him better. :P

As always I outline the drawings in thumbnail form - VERY ROUGH - before I do any detail work just in case changes need to be made. I also made very brief placeholder dialogue, as you can see here. This comic was challenging due to having to summarize a large amount of text into 3-4 pages of comic art. D:
