For those of you not in the know, I've been dealing with the worsening illness and finally death of my mother over the last couple of months. I've been her primary carer for the last five years, so I knew it was coming, but still, thank you all for being patient while I deal with this. The funeral is next week, but I am now in a better head space to write! Enjoy!https://leadvone.com/the-grays-secret-scene-16/

The Gray's Secret: BONUS SCENE
https://leadvone.com/the-grays-secret-bonus/IMPORTANT UPDATE:So, I've recently been having some issues with Patreon's A.I that seems to be wrongly flagging posts I've been making as potentially problematic. I'm pretty sure Patreon is experimenting with new LLM tech, like ChatGPT, and given how new this technology is, I've decided I don't want to risk accidentally getting caught in some kind of automated content ban hammer ...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 14
Whooshing through the British floo system, Harry thoughts went over what he wanted to accomplish that day again and again, still rotating through each of his people, their roles, competencies, weaknesses, and how best to use all of them. Finally stepping out of a floo in the Ministry entrance hall, Harry stepped aside and took stock.Busy.As expected. While his people and Lily made their own landings, he turned to the fireplace next to his, just as ...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 13 (1-4)
Unusually for a weekend, the floo entrance of the Ministry of Magic was bustling.Clerks and staff ran to and fro on errand after errand while Lords and Ladies scattered throughout the corridors, walking where they pleased, talking, plotting, bowing, curtseying, occasionally shouting, and even more occasionally, pulling wands.Every few seconds, the Emerald green fires burning along the entrance hallway flared as another wizard or witch emerged aft...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 12
Zero Days before the Wizengamot Weekend: 7:00am*Beep* *Beep* *Beep *Beep* *Beep*Harry smashed a fist down on the magic alarm clock by his bed. He sat straight up and stared down at the timepiece. Seven O’Clock? Rats!Whipping aside the curtain to the four poster, he flicked his wand and began a lightning-fast morning routine.Blaise Zabini stared at Harry as his toothbrush worked itself around his gums while a brush started to lather up for a sha...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 11
Zero Days before the Wizengamot Weekend: 1:00amClare dreamed. And in her dream, a giant padlock floated before her. She wasn’t sure what the padlock was and had no clue how to open it. Although some part of her — a small part that remembered something her current employer/guide/teacher/lord/crush(!) had once said about memory charms — reflected that maybe she didn’t want to open it, even if she could.--------------------------------------...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 10
The Burrow: One day before the Wizengamot Weekend.“Mum, can’t you do anything?!” Bill Weasley was this close to straight-up whining. “Ginny is too young to know what’s best for her!”“William, that’s enough!” snapped Molly Weasley, who’d finally had enough. Her eldest son had been an increasing headache for months now, and she’d been tolerant, but there was only so far she was willing to be pushed. “I agree that Ginny is to...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 9
Granger Cottage, Gairsay Island: Two days before the Wizengamot Weekend.Deep beneath the ground, Clare Cooper ran her miss-matched eyes over the second nearly complete massive broomstick-shaped submarine in the wet docks of the Granger’s private mad scientist laboratory.“Lowering the beam!” called out a newly recruited graduate wizard, as three of his fellows held their wands aloft, maneuvering a large length of solid wood that had to weigh...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 8
Hogwarts, Scotland: Three days before the Wizengamot Weekend.“And that’s Montrose,” Daphne said, putting a little tick beside the location marked for the east-coast sea-side town on the large map of Scotland pinned up in the empty classroom Hermione had been using for the Founders Club meetings. It was lunchtime and the second-year girls were grabbing a moment to plot before Herbology. “Add that to Wigtown, Banchory, and Portree and we’...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 7
AUTHOR NOTE: Christmas is over! I'm posting this from my phone away from my computer. As such, I don't have my photo editing software, so no cover image. That'll be first on the agenda when I get back. There may also be slightly more editing issues than usual. Welcome to all our new patrons! See you all again very soon!Montrose, Scotland: Four days before the Wizengamot Weekend. Lord Zazo clicked his tongue as he and his companions wa...
Death, Taxes, and Sexy Women: Scene 3
The important thing, Nathan reflected, was not to react. Don’t flinch. Don’t slouch. Don’t give any indication that the gale force wind trying to waterjet his skin raw was any more consideration than a light drizzle. Certainly don’t look like you totally forgot about the giant storm that had been threatening to break for hours before the three of them decided that fully enjoying the indoor tropical paradise while waiting for their mark wa...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 6
John Potter was sweating. He’d faced down Voldemort and death eaters. Dragons, mere-people, and giant mazes. He’d spoken with Fate and Death, travelled through time, and gone toe-to-toe in battles of wits and magic with his evil twin, all while keeping his secrets, and doing his best to play the timeline so that this time, the Dark Lord could be defeated.John Potter was quite comfortable with danger. He was even comfortable visiting a girl’s ...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 5
“Bozo!”In the gloomy back offices of the Daily Prophet, up in the attics of Diagon Alley, right next door to the Quibbler Printing Press, a cocker spaniel started awake from where it had been dozing in a dog basket.“Bozo, we’ve got news!”The cocker spaniel yawned, its tongue lolling out carelessly, before the animal shifted and a mildly dishevelled wizard stepped onto the wooden floorboards. The door slammed open and Rita Skeeter marched...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 4
High above a green and lush manicured lawn, a young witch with flaming red hair danced on a flying broomstick like a lithe ballerina, or, more accurately for those with such knowledge, a pole dancer. The broom had become an extension of her body – as much a part of her being as her arms or legs, or tail, whenever she had one.Seemingly from out of nowhere, a bludger whizzed past her head, barely an inch away.Ginny Weasley blew an errant strand of...
Death, Taxes, and Sexy Women: Scene 2
Rosalind Moretti lay on her stomach, holding a pair of binoculars to her eyes. She was utterly fixated on the view through the glass. Calm, dedicated, and professional. She was also wearing a yellow string bikini under a practically see-through sarong, and absolutely had the curves to pull it off – a complete picture in attractive feminine charm.Nathan pursed his lips as they approached. So much for sexy women taking a back seat.Fortunately for...
The Gray's Secret: Scene 3
The owl soared across the skies of England. One more journey, one more letter, one flight closer to the magical owl equivalent of union-mandated vacation.Gliding over the green fields of Wiltshire, patchworked with hedgerows and pocked with oak, birch, and willow, the barn owl saw her latest target, large and imposing, and dove. The house elves of Malfoy Manor were up to their neck in unexpected guests and unexpected work. In other words, they wer...
