v6.2 tryout

injection molding woes
Y'all staying sane in this 'interesting time'?It seems I'm hitting the edges of what is feasible without specialized tooling. 5.5L molds with 3L injection syringes and a 6L mixer is freakin' painful.On the bright side I can slice the models in half and re-print molds. Another week or two and we'll have the bum sorted. I'm sincerely looking forward to starting to experiment with the paintjobs!

70% done with printing the updated base mold, started poking at actual suit design. Since there was a recent furor over the artists that did a silicone model of Kim Kardashian (The Bum) and they published the .obj file... yeah, let's try. Fun experiment towards uncanny valley, and I need to redo all foam molds anyway!

Well, the black v6 prototype failed due to shrinking in the new production method... so new molds it is. 7/25 parts done, another ~2 weeks to go. Plus reworked foam molds. Woopwoop. Will drop an effortpost on FB about the method later (early march?)Question: what's of more interest here, behind-the-scenes stuff or masky content?

Ended up with some interesting textures! Very not-perfect, but lots of lessons learned. The next one should be magnificent... and thick. This one is 1mm+ all-over. Jebus. Redoing the workshop a bit when this finishes, and off we go!

First off - thank you for the support! This project has eaten my spare time for years and years. There's still plenty to do though, and your help is aporeciated!Some current "behind the scenes" attached. Thanks to a tip-off, I can now reliably (~kind of) cast suits around 1mm thick.
