I don't think I've ever seen anything like that in a movie—you learn so much about Z. Mayo so quickly. What a way to grow up. Yikes. After sleeping on this movie and thinking about it more, I still feel the same way I mentioned in the outro, though I'm unsure where to place it amo...

Sunrise (1927) watch along
Happy AFI Saturday!Sunrise (1927), ranked #82 on AFI's list, is seriously impressive for being so old! The actors totally nailed their roles, and whoever was behind the camera really knew what they were doing - they came up with some pretty cool shots that were way ahead of their time. I loved the transitions and the superimposed layered shots. Sure, I had some small issues with how some of the characters' stories played out, but the over...

Children of Men (2006)
Children of Men (2006) Wow. What a ride. Spoilers down below*********************************************************I am completely blown away by this film, especially from a technical perspective. It was brilliant. The story feels grounded in truth and plausibility, crafted with genius to give us everything we need. It hooks us from the first minute (a favourite thing to do). It keeps revealing details masterfully - from character backstory del...
Easy Rider (1969) watch along
Happy AFI Friday!#84 on the AFI list Easy Rider (1969)*******Light Spoilers Below*******I wasn’t sure how I felt about this film at first, to be honest. It wasn’t the pacing, the breathtaking landscapes, or the introspection—it wasn’t any of that. I just wasn’t sure. Maybe it’s because the film reflects so much of the turmoil and change of the 1960s, and I feel a bit naive about it all. But as the movie unfolded, things started to sin...
