The Jimquisition: Arkham Shite
Batman: Arkham Knight's shameful PC tale is one for the history books. A chaotic mess of controversy with some unprecedented situations, it's a masterclass in how exactly NOT to treat a PC version of a major game release. It's a meaty story, and one worth recording. Let's pull apart the tangled web, and look at what happened. Thank God for Steam refunds, right?
Review: Sonic Runners
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/sonic-runners-review/ Reviews of bad Sonic games just bring out the best in me, I feel.Sad thing is, this could've been good. It sort of IS good... until the ads, pop-ups, microtransactions and general assault on the senses kick in.
Podquisition Episode 31: Fuck The Batmobile
On this week’s bat-episode, we talk about how utterly horrible the Batmobile is in Batman: Arkham Knight. We alsonatter about the shoddy PC port, which hadn’t been pulled from Steam when we’d recorded. There’s plenty of other chat too. We talk about Her Story for a bit, Laura eats horrific chocolate, and there is much shagging in Fallout Shelter to discuss. Also, the Batmobile is the worst.
Review: Batman: Arkham Knight
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/batman-arkham-knight-review/Never thought I'd be disappointed with a game featuring The Scarecrow as a lead villain, but life is full of surprises, huh?
Metabombed - Batman: Arkham Knight
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/metabombed-batman-arkham-knight-is-a-travesty-and-insult-to-pc-gamers/ The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is pretty disappointing. How disappointing? Let the horde of Metacritic user reviewers tell you!
Review: Tales From The Borderlands Episode Three: Catch A Ride
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/tales-from-the-borderlands-episode-three-catch-a-ride-review/ Oh hi there. Would you like a review today? Here's one. It won't bite!
Review: Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/devil-may-cry-4-special-edition-review-the-devil-you-know-better/ My latest written review is that of Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition. It's like Devil May Cry 4, but special!
The Jimquisition: Shenmue 3 - The Good, The Bad, And The Iffy
It was an undeniably strong E3 2015 last week, with little room for upset. Unless you're a Metroid fan, obviously. After days of strong representation, exciting new games, Final Fantasy VII, and a PC showcase that lasted seventeen hours, it's time to get back down to earth.Let's chat about Shenmue 3, shall we? The game tore the roof off the place when it was unveiled, but questions about its Kickstarter lie in the wake. Is this a good...
Review: Fallout Shelter
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/fallout-shelter-review/ Here's Bethesda showing that vile Dungeon Keeper Mobile how things SHOULD be done.
Podquisition Episode 30: E3 2015
Laura Kate comes to us LIVE from the E3 2015 press room as we discuss everything that went down during a surprisingly excellent event. Xbox did good, Sony did good, Square Enix... well... Square Enix had a big round headed guy, at least. We go through all the pressers, from Bethesda to Nintendo, and talk about the stuff we liked, and maybe didn't like so much. Also, Gavin definitely gets to talk. We even made sure of it.
Review: Her Story
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/her-story-review/ Experimental, and most definitely not for everybody. Found myself drawn in by this one, though. It's surprisingly gripping if you allow yourself to go with it.
The Jimquisition: The Episode About Unity Engine Being Good
Remember when I said I'd do an episode about Unity Engine being good, and instead whined about amiibo a whole bunch? Well, it's finally time to pay the piper, and stick up for an engine that's gone through a lot of abuse lately. Let's balance the scales and get to it, shall we?
Review: Alone in the Dark: Illumination
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/alone-in-the-dark-illumination-review/ Atari has knocked another slice of genius out of the park. Following the travesty that was Haunted House: Cryptic Graves, Alone in the Dark is the next franchise to be well and truly stamped on. Nice.
Podquisition Episode 29: Black Widow Motel
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/podquisition-episode-29-black-widow-motel/ Conrad Zimmerman joins the crew this week to talk about E3 and how it destroys everybody’s hopes and dreams. We reminisce about E3s past – more specifically, that time Destructoid operated out of the notorious Black Widow Motel.Elsewhere, we chat about Hyrule Warriors coming to 3DS, Dark Souls 3, and Gavin goes for a piss when we bring up amiibo again. Also, one ...
Review: Wander
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/wander-review/ I have no idea how this game got any sort of traction. It's pure drivel.
Review: D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/d4-dark-dreams-dont-die-review/ I originally reviewed this for The Escapist, but the PC version gave me an excuse to revisit it and officially welcome it to the fold of Jimquisition reviews.God I love this game.
The Jimquisition: Steam Refunds
Steam has finally delivered some basic customer service in the form of a refund policy. This is a good thing. A damn good thing. A long overdue, much needed, very good thing. Naturally, this means there's a debate about it with some people saying it's a bad thing. A number of developers and even games press pundits have criticized the move. They're basically wrong, but let's look at the benefits and concerns anyway, because when S...
Interview: We Happy Few
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/we-happy-few-interview-compulsion-games-jumps-for-joy/ I got to interview Compulsion Games' Guillaume Provost about We Happy Few, a game that's had me enthralled ever since it was announced. Great discussion about Kickstarter, the indie market, and game design within!
The Perfect E3 Experience
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/the-perfect-e3-experience/ I wrote about what would happen at E3 if I were running the show. I should really run the bloody show!
Podquisition 28: Fallout 4 And Torture Porn
On this week’s podcast, we manage to get a whole lot of conversation in about Fallout 4 and Steam’s refund policy, both of which made the show fly by!We also provide our predictions for E3, and by that I mean Laura has become legitimately scary and might very well be in line to direct a new Hostel movie. Good lord. All that, and loads more toss for you to enjoy!
Review: Hatred
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/06/hatred-review/“My name is Not Important. What is important is what I’m going to do… I just fuckin’ hate this world. And the human worms feasting on its carcass. My whole life is just cold, bitter hatred. And I always wanted to die violently. This is the time of vengeance and no life is worth saving. And I will put in the grave as many as I can. It’s time for me to kill. And it’s time for me to di...
The Jimquisition: The Splatoon Straw That Broke Amiibo's Back
Amiibo can go take a running jump at this point. After the abysmal mess that was Wave 4's launch, and the continued benefit to scumbags that these things provide, I'm done.Splatoon was the final straw - a great game in its own right, with amiibo functionality that genuinely justifies the "glorified DLC" accusations I've defended amiibo from in the past. It's kind of worse though - because it's DLC for only a lucky few....

Thank you so much for the support this month!
Interview: Unity on Unity
http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/05/unity-interview-talking-asset-flips-and-steam-saturation-with-brains-behind-the-engine/ I interview Dan Adams from Unity about the popularity of the engine, as well the dark side it has unfortunately encouraged.
Podquisition Episode 27: Dank Cumsocks
On this week's vile excuse for a show, Laura finally gets The Witcher 3 working, but doesn't play it. She also eats horrible dogfood-chocolate stuff, because that's what you're here for.In addition, we chat splatcore about Splatoon, regard Digital Homicide's latest meltdown extravaganza, and delight in how being tired apparently makes Gavin really quite talkative!
Review: Splatoon
You're a kid now, you're a squid now!
Review: Game of Thrones – A Telltale Game Series Episode Four: Sons Of Winter
Threats, murder, and shaky political alliances. Just another day in Westeros.
Mad Max Makes Me Wonder Where All The Australians Went
Despite capitulating to fan demand and making Max Australian in the new Mad Max game, it seems Avalanche Studios will still boast a predominantly American cast. Is it nitpicking to find this a problem? I don't think so, and explain why in this editorial.
