I more or less agree, I do wish they would make it a little bit more about the actual awards and game dev recognition. I felt like everyone was rushed off the stage during their speeches way way too fast. I think game devs deserve way more praise for their hard work, so that did read as a little disrespectful. Also there was a pretty big focus on Hollywood celebrities, which I don’t really love. I don’t think Hollywood actors should be excluded from the gaming world entirely, but it feels like a lot of games are trying to have a lot of big celebrities all the sudden for the purpose of hype and profit to promote to a more main stream, non gamer audience, and I don’t really love that. I don’t think Hollywood actors should take all the jobs from voice actors either. Other than that criticism, I loved the musical performances and the game presentations were pretty good. There’s a lot of games that were shown that looked very interesting to me and I felt some hype about some of the announcements. Overall I had a fun time watching, but I do think in the future they should make it less about Hollywood and ads, and more about the devs and the love of gaming. what did you think of the game awards?
