🕑 Added 2024-02-15 21:34:29 +0000 UTC Hiya everyone :) I posted an update on Twitter about my current health situation but for anyone that missed it, I will be having surgery very soon.I have a Chiari malformation which is a somewhat rare condition where the cerebellar tonsils grow into the spinal column. I was in a car accident back in December that resulted in a herniated disc. On Friday after a chiropractor visit for the disc situation, I had complications that resulted in me having compression to the cerebellum, a stroke, possible IJV thrombosis and further compression of the spinal column opening blocking spinal fluid from moving how and where it should. All of this will require immediate brain and neck surgery. I have a neurosurgery consult tomorrow morning. I've been on bedrest since last week.
I'm still going to be posting as much as I can but I'm very limited on what I can do. I'm trying to take it easy. They have me on a ton of meds including morphine, valium, muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatories and other pain meds.
Once the surgery happens, I will be out of commission for at least a few weeks. My spirits are high and I'm doing well. The meds are helping so that im not in constant excruciating pain.
There are a lot of things I will need around the house to make things manageable. House hold items that are disposable so that I can cut down on any physical activity and cleaning that I would normally have to do. As well as things for comfort and care. I have an Amazon list to purchase the items I will need. It seems like a lot but it will be many weeks of bedrest. If anyone would like to contribute, I would prefer it to go directly to my ca$happ or v3nmo. That way I don't have to wait 10 days for fee processing and transfer from here. I'd be able to order instantly.
I will update when the goal is met so that I don't recieve more than I need. I really appreciate you taking the time to read this and help out. It's a scary situation but I'm confident that the doctors will take very good care of me. I'm attaching a picture of the total and amount of items for reference. My tag is $MsKenner.
