Here are two: Sarah Boone: An African American dressmaker, she made her name by inventing the modern-day ironing board. With its approval in 1892, she became one of the first Black women to be awarded a patent. Marie Van Brittan Brown: If you sleep better at night and when youโre away from home because you have a security system, you should know it was invented by a Black woman. Marie Van Brittan Brown felt uneasy in her neighborhood and the police were unreliable. So, she took matters in her own hands and patented the modern home security system. What would you invent? Lets discuss!! โฌโฌโฌโฌ Comment Below โฌโฌโฌโฌ ***BONUS FACT*** Long before St. Valentineโs execution, February 14 had come to be associated with fertility. Between February 13 and 15, Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia by sacrificing a goat and a dog and then lashing naked women with the hides, all in the interest of making the women more fertile. In the fifth century AD, Pope Gelasius I outlawed Lupercalia and officially declared February 14 to be the feast of St. Valentine, or Valentineโs Day โคโค Be sure to DM on your chances of winning the "Be My Valentine" Contest!ย 25% off Any customs, picture sets, Skype Dates, Personal Phone calls & more goes towards the CONTEST!!โคโค There are soooo many people who are close to winning still!!!
