i've spoken about this very briefly here and have grappled with whether or not it felt right to bring the outside world into this space, but this is where i'm at—where we're at.
i used to be very politically involved and had to remove myself from that for mental health reasons. i've since realized that it was never about politics for me, but basic human rights.
many of you don't live in the states and i'm sure there are many of you that do and don't care to hear about this here, and that's okay. i feel like it's an obligation of mine to utilize my platform(s):
1. in a way that is authentic to who i am.
2. in way that can potentially help others.
i've heard horror story after horror story of families being ripped apart, human/women's rights being stripped away, crucial resources suddenly inaccessible. it's to the point where some days i'm so riddled with anxiety i can't function and i know many of you have had the same experience.
ultimately, this is an appreciation post for those of you who showed up and protested and to everyone else who does their part in smaller, less obvious ways, because that's just as important. i know can feel futile, but it's not.
as i mentioned in the video, all of my income over the next few days will be donated to a cause that supports someone somewhere deeply affected by this. i'll keep everyone in the loop about where i decide it will go, i'm also open to suggestions.
