Ryan waited. Three heartbeats. Five.
Then he smiled: small, sharp, knowing. “That’s what I thought.”
Eli’s lips puckered. But Ryan didn’t kiss him. Didn’t touch him beyond the thumb that had grazed his lip. Just leaned in until their breaths mingled, until Eli could feel the thrum of Ryan’s pulse in the air between them.
“Tomorrow,” Ryan said. “Rehearsal dinner. You’ll sit across from me. You’ll smile for Jeff & Madison.
