Do you want the beast master game to have a Point and Click Adventure style of gameplay like HFGR, or control a top down character like Pokemon or Final Fantasy?
Point and Click is easier to do and less work but moving your character is probably more immersive and fun.
Things I would have to code if we do the top down moving your own character is: character movement, collisions, camera following, interact with things in front of your character, depth system so your character is correctly in front or behind objects such as trees or houses, and maybe a few more things.
This is for the beast master game.
