Uncle's Smokes
🕑 Added 2023-03-14 21:38:54 +0000 UTCIt had been a few weeks since his Uncle had passed away, and John had finally mustered up the courage to go through his things. He'd been avoiding it, not wanting to face the reality, but he had to. Being one of the few members of his family left, he knew his Uncle would want him to take care of his things.
It wasn't long before he found his Uncle's cigar collection. He knew his Uncle's love for them and decided to take a break, take a moment to honor his memory. Hec chose a random one, not really knowing anything about Cigars, lit it, and inhaled deeply.
He felt the smoke wrapping around his tongue, quickly filling his mouth. He felt a strange warmth envelop him, wrapping around his skin. It was relaxing, calming his nerves as a soothing numbness spread. His body felt heavier, almost as if the smoke was filling it up, his muscles heated from the clouds of tobacco.
He quickly took off his shirt as the temperature became unbearable, hoping the air would cool him off. All it did was allow him to see the changes more easily. He watched in horror as his belly began to push out, swelling along with the rest of his body. He exhaled in huge puff of smoke, watching his bloated skin soften into lumps of fat.
He had begun to sweat, a nervous panic settling in, the itchy of his pores opening spreading across his body letting the vapor in. He watched as whispy hairs were pulled from his skin, feeling a fuzzy white beard wrapping his jaws as his head grew cold, the hair on it quickly disappearing.
He closed his eyes, continuing to puff, letting his worries evaporate with the smoke. By the time he opened his eyes again, his body had settled into the changes, softer and rounder, hair white with age on his face. He was almost a replica of his uncle, an old fat man always carrying a stogie in his lower lip. He had no other direction than to fill in the role.
