Motion Canvas Postmortem & Updates

During the release of Motion Canvas, I said this silly line:
After the release, I want to relax a bit and focus again on game development - starting with the announcement of the Foundations project, which you may expect next week.
Needless to say, none of this happened. To say that the release was overwhelming would be an understatement. My low self-esteem led me to believe that the release would not be that big of a deal - that a few people would check out the tool, play with it for a while, and then move on. In reality, the project has almost 10k stars on GitHub and a Discord community with over 1000 members.
And so Motion Canvas has devoured my time entirely. For the past month, I've done nothing except for helping people get started, fixing bugs, and implementing new features:
The fault is of course mine and I'd like to apologize to you. My unhealthy time management - or lack thereof - causes me to dedicate whole weeks to whatever I'm focused on at the moment. Moving forward, I want to try and fix this. I believe I'd be able to deliver videos and project updates much more consistently If I could share my time between them.
Nevertheless, the dust around Motion Canvas has now settled. The community doesn't grow that fast, I'm happy with the state the project is currently in, and a month-long break from Astortion left me starving for some game development. So you may expect some interesting announcements next week (this time for real)
Sliver Button
On the bright side, YouTube has sent me the silver play button. It's supposed to arrive next week. This means that you can expect an unboxing stream later this month!
My next video
When it comes to my next video, not much has changed - it's still meant to be the second episode of the renderer devlog. Unfortunately, due to the delays caused by Motion Canvas, it won't be ready until next month.
But we'll talk about proper volumetric lighting achieved using the same technique 3D games use and I really hope it will be worth the wait!
Finances
I also feel obligated to tell you that the next video will include a sponsored segment. I was able to avoid that for a very long time, unfortunately, my revenue is highly dependent on the exchange rate from USD to PLN which has been getting worse and worse each month. Add to that the overall inflation and we end up in a situation where I can barely afford my living. Including sponsors will provide me with financial stability and allow me to invest in the channel. Naturally, I'll try to pick sponsors that I genuinely consider worth your while.
I'm sure you understand.

Take it easy, sir. Life always comes knocking no matter what one does. Glad to support your work. I am here mostly to support motion canvas, but I also do that with the knowledge that it such a project must come from a point of the developer dogfooding it for something like your devlogs (and the devlogs themselves are also useful for me to look at for inspiration on how to use Motion Canvas so it all connects. In the end, you are a great creator and builder and I am here to be a Patron of your good work to my domain in general.
