Essential Spike Lee: Do The Right Thing - his first. one of the most important movies ever made. it didn't get what it deserved until the last decade. Malcolm X - The biggest Oscar robbery of all time. Wasn't even nominated. Inside Man - Bank Heist Summer of. Sam - About NYC during the Son of Sam serial murders. I have liked every Spike Lee movie I've seen. Formal mentioned something that resonated with me when he talked about "the day in a life of a character." Spike is definitely more about character than plot. That is perfect for me. If I'm interested in the characters, I can enjoy almost any plot because I'm interested in them and what they feel.
