Super Metroid Update - Samus & company
🕑 Added 2021-01-05 06:39:43 +0000 UTCHey!
Hope you're well! I wanted to share the latest progress on the Super Metroid piece. At this stage I've done all the drawings/values for the creatures and Samus. From this point on I'll be painting up all the characters as well as rendering the background. I'll likely add more random enemies from the game into this composition. But anyway! I know this is a bit brief for an update, but I wanted to share this with you tonight before I pass out!
Video explaining the process will be coming, but in the meantime I hope you like it so far!
Once I add in all the atmosphere to put some distance between everybody it's gonna start to pop and make sense compositionally - can't wait!
Thanks for making all this possible!
Dave

Hey Dave, completely unrelated to the painting (which is amazing by the way) but, I just had to tell you that your Q&A videos really gives me the energy I need right now. I've been busting my ass with work for so long now and hearing you talk about anxiety and personal issues kinda strengthens me a bit. Because it reminds me that people I look up to also go through tough shit and for some reason that's easy to forget sometimes. Especially when things are hard. So thanks for putting those out. It's a comfort I didn't know I needed.

Hey dave, don't know if you have mentioned it, but are you still painting on clip? It looks like photoshop but I'm not sure. Thanks!

Yeah, it's too short, noticed that last night, I'm gonna extend the barrel

Is it just because it hasn't been renders yet or does Samus' arm cannon look weirdly short?

Incredible, this one and the god hand's art are my favorite so far ! Stunning

Very interesting varia suit design! Looks like a mix of Smash's chest piece, Super's pauldrons, and a less pointy Samus Returns visor
