Final Fantasy 6 - Finished Lines
🕑 Added 2020-04-01 23:52:47 +0000 UTCHey!
Been working on this when I get a chance, just finished up the lines! I'm feeling pretty good around this one, super excited to get to painting it all. I included a bunch of detail shots as well so you can check out each of the individual characters. I tried to combine Amano's renditions with the sprites from the game so that they felt true to memory but also true to both sources.
I attached the image to download if that's easier to check out :).
Thanks for all the support on this, I greatly appreciate it! I'm really happy with this one, it's nice to get to realize the childhood dream finally.

Hey Dave! Old post, but in case you see this I was wondering if you could share if you used the Watercolor brush for the linework and the fill on this part of the FF6 piece? Take care!

I was using the cheaper of the two, can't remember what it's called though. The more expensive one is better for animators.

Love what you do, man. Your drawing have been getting so good, the girl for the deviantart challenge and the MGSposter were dope too. Thanks for being such a great inspiration !

Hey Dave Ive been looking to try out clip studio paint. It says there are two versions. One it says for painters and one were you using? Thanks

Wow! Gorgeous work. You're definitely sticking to that "finished look in every step" mission

This is absolutely incredible so far. The touch of Amano's character renditions mixed with baroque elements, in your style is a perfect blend! My childhood dream illustration is coming true through your work. I need this on my wall when it's all done, lol. Will you be posting any video process of this?

Really like the subtle expressions on this one

I put them all on separate layers so I can quickly mask and paint them

Immaculate linework. I love the flourishes and details on their ornaments and sleeves. Especially on Setzer's and Shadow's outfit.

Question, do you draw this as a whole piece or each character is drawn separately?
Marisa Rani
