Magic Style Illustration - part 7 & PSD's w/layers
🕑 Added 2020-09-23 15:01:03 +0000 UTCHey!
Hope you're well! Here's the latest part of the video series walking you through the final steps of the painting process - there will be one more part that will contain some painting of the background as well as final adjustments in Photoshop, but it will likely be comparatively short video.
I've also included two PSD's of the build up of this painting with all layers intact so that you can look through my process for yourself. I'd recommend opening these up in Photoshop so that all the adjustment layers are still working properly, but you can open these in Clip Studio as well.
Thanks as always for your support!
Bunch more stuff coming in the next couple days, I'm right about done with the MegaMan Legends piece which is gonna feel great to get out.

Thanks for the response! Definitely a skill I wanna develop. Something I've learned from this Patreon is that most of the art stuff that I wanna be able to do seems to be just a matter of time and effort. Pretty comforting honestly

I don't really think too much about it, I just try and challenge myself with different styles and approaches. I enjoy taking these on so I think the motivation is there to just try new things. When I say that it's really coming from a place of being a lot more comfortable in my ability and I would have a nightmare of a time doing this 10 years ago or really any time before the past couple years. But that being said, I think it's a great exercise to get into, really keeps you thinking through each piece.

Also, how do you manage jumping back and forth between projects with different styles like this and the mega man piece? I've just started doing commission work and I'm already having trouble balancing projects that are different in style. Makes me feel kinda smooth brained tbh
