Afterlife Harem - Plans For v0.5.0

My plan for this year was to release only content (scenes, quests, etc.), but there has been a change of plans. The game has been out for a while and I think it deserves a few improvements.
I will spend the next few months making the game better, from fixing various bugs to changing the UI. I will not rush this update, it will be released when it is ready.
If you have any suggestions, found a bug that bothers you or just have an opinion on the direction the development of Afterlife Harem is taking, I strongly encourage you to leave a comment below.

Here are more details about the 0.5.0 update:
Remake Of The First Quest
The first quest includes literally the first renders and animations I created for the game.
Also, all players will go through this quest at the start of the story, so it is a pretty important quest.
Knowing that, this quest deserves a rework, with better quality renders and animations.
Note: I am referring to the coffee shop quest in which the player and the others meet Feya for the first time.
New UI
For a long time now there has been a bug in the save and load menus, where the thumbnails are much smaller than they should be.
I will take this opportunity to not only fix this bug, but also change the entire main UI.
New BG Music And Sound Effects
I think the music and sound effects make the gaming experience better.
New background music will be added according to the scene, for example: H scenes will have a different background music than affection scenes or action scenes.
Spanish Translation
I want more people to enjoy the game. I would like to be able to translate it into multiple languages, but this is not so easy to accomplish. For now we will start with Spanish, as it is my main language.
Multiple bugs will be fixed:
Message spam from the girls in the house after the beach event.
Duplicated Content: The message that says that there are still quests available even though they are not.
Inventory related bugs.
New Way to Keep Your Progress
Unfortunately, saves from previous versions will NOT work in v0.5.0 and will become obsolete.
However, someone from the discord community gave me an idea to give players a chance to keep their progress.
I will share more details about this approach when version 0.5.0 is out. So don't feel that you are wasting your time playing the current versions of the game, please continue to enjoy Afterlife Harem. :)
About The Scope Of the Game And The Combat System
When I started this project I was a VERY inexperienced dev, this led me to make terrible decisions regarding the development of Afterlife Harem.
Due to my inexperience, I wanted to add as many things as I possible to the game, and this made the scope expand and extended the development time.
I'm sorry to say this, but after reflecting on it for a LONG time, I have decided to remove some features from the game that I feel do not add much value to it.
IMPORTANT:
Please don't think I'm doing this because I lost interest in Afterlife Harem, in fact, I'm very excited to work on the rest of the story! :D
I'm just doing the best for my games and my career as a dev.
Combat System
The combat system is something I have been announcing since the first version of the game was released. I know that I have promoted it a lot and that many players are waiting for it, but... I took the difficult decision to cancel it.
This is the decision that hurts me the most - I truly hope you can forgive me for this - but if I continue with the development of this system, the total development time of the game will be extended for at least one more year.
I think it's better for the game if I spend my time improving its quality and working on the story.
Dating App
I actually had a lot of fun programming the dating app, it was refreshing.
But because of how the scenes and chats work (lots of branching), it was also exhausting.
It was too much work, too much work that I strongly considered making an individual game out of it.
I will no longer add new characters to the dating app, but I will finish the two that were added at the beginning.

I hope everyone can understand my decisions, I'm just doing the best for my games and my career as a dev.
The game has been out for a long time and has not received an update like this since its release, an update that has the objective of improving its quality and the player's experience.
Various aspects of the game will be revised and improved: new UI, new bg music, multiple bugs will be fixed, new spanish translation, etc.
Combat System and Dating App features will be canceled. :(
I will talk about the Dating App in a future post. Maybe I'll bring it as a new game or as feature for my other game, that is more of a Dating Sim than AH is.

You do as you must (obviously) and if you think the game needs some polish, I doubt anyone here would complain-- but I will say I've loved it as-is since the first time I played it! Make it how you envision it... I just want to say 'thank you' for everything so far, and for being so attentive (especially when it comes to letting us know). Cheers!
