State of the Lab - TTRPG ahoy

I had a good talk with Kathryn after today’s stream, as we often do. The topic of discussion was the future of my content, what I should be focusing on, and what I want out of both my streams and my work when I’m not on camera.
I had mentioned today that my work for DMs Guild is on hiatus. That was premature. In fact, it was flat out silly, and talking tonight in light of recent events really clarified that for me. You see … I’m about to be on a stream on Twitch’s D&D channel this Friday.
I know.
I KNOW.
Like, WHAT?! Are you kidding me? But nope. It’s true. Which brings me round to what I want, on stream and off.
I love TTRPGs. I love designing them. I love writing for them. I love playing in them, and I am honored when I watch others live-play through what I create. It’s a genuine thrill like no other. So, it really came down to “why am I putting things off to make room for things like the store?”
That’s a fair question. The store might make money. It might help us with the move. What it won’t do is allow me to continue creating the content I want: modules, adventures, and the other exciting elements that let me flex my game design muscles like writing for TTRPGs does.
What does this mean for streams? Nothing really, except that larger builds (props, large terrain pieces) will be a rare occurrence. Mostly, it’s going to be mini painting, the occasional small build, and the reintroduction of some Photoshop streams where folks can watch me illustrate a new magic item, weapon, or monster for D&D that I’ll stat up and offer to folks on my Discord.
But in my off-camera time? TTRPG work. Full steam. I have too many ideas in my head to put out so far apart. I want to up the release schedule.
So, the Stream schedule will look like this:
Mon. & Tue. - Minipainting, or small build
Wed. Continued crafting/painting, or Photoshop work
Fri. - Artificer Chat.
As for TTRPG content, the release schedule isn’t locked, but here’s the working idea:
The Adamantine Limited (adventure) - Summer 2022
Uldrin’s House of Fortunes (Adventure) - Late Autumn 2022
This doesn’t include any and all other smaller TTRPG content I will be working on, such as the charity one-shot for Jasper’s Game Day.
With all that in mind, I want to remind folks in the supporter Discord that you will all still get first peek at this new content prior to publication on top of the things I’ll be creating on stream. I hope you like stuff, because more stuff is on the way.
Now, let’s go craft some fun times for others at the table, shall we?
