110 HxH: The Strongest Assassin
🕑 Added 2024-11-09 07:44:18 +0000 UTCAfter arriving in a small town nearby, they drove to a nearby city. It wasn't until boarding the airship that Kaizen and Zeno were separated. Zeno returned to Zoldyck Manor with a few candidates for the apprentice butler role, while Kaizen headed to Heavens Arena.
On the airship, Shizuku sat next to Kaizen, staring curiously out the window at the scenery below. Kaizen had identified her by now: she was indeed the Phantom Troupe member from the original plot. Her appearance was nearly identical, and her short-term amnesia confirmed it. Shizuku often needed a notebook to jot down things she wanted to remember.
"What's Heavens Arena like?" she asked, eyes still fixed on the window.
""It's a place where fighters from all around gather. You'll see when we get there. By the way, we have a friend there too—a girl, younger than you."
...
Meanwhile, in Meteor City…
Franklin glanced at Pakunoda beside him. Before long, Shalnark caught up, and the three of them looked out at the vast, barren plain stretching before them. It wasn't the ruin of buildings, but the flat land itself that bore the marks of a fierce battle.
"Is this where the fight happened?" Pakunoda asked, furrowing her brow.
"With that level of destruction, we can't underestimate their strength," Franklin said, nodding.
The Phantom Troupe knew little about the Kute Gang of Thieves's strength, but they understood the power of the Wild Beasts who roamed the area. Truthfully, the Troupe, as they currently were, would likely fall short against the Wild Beasts, let alone the Kute Gang—unless they could craft a carefully laid plan.
Shalnark analyzed aloud, "The Kute Gang of Thieves members might be on par with our leader's level. Some of us lag behind in combat skill. Phinks, Uvogin, Feitan—they're the top fighters among us. If given a few more years, our leader could rival theirs."
Pakunoda's gaze hardened. "What about Zoldyck? The world's most renowned assassin family?"
Shalnark nodded. "From what I've heard, many of the Zoldyck family's butlers come from Meteor City, and the family itself rarely acts outside their contracts. As long as their target isn't us, we're safe, as long as we don't provoke them."
Franklin scanned the battleground again. "So, how did the fight go?"
Shalnark explained, "At the start, Zeno Zoldyck clashed with the Kute Thief and came out victorious, leaving the Kute member with a shattered arm. But other Kute members were on their way to reinforce him."
Franklin frowned. "Why didn't Zeno finish him off then?"
"In the heat of it, Zeno might have thought it wise to avoid drawing in reinforcements. He made his escape as the Kute reinforcements arrived, but our elders learned of the Kute Gang of Thieves' activities and ordered an all-out strike against them. They went with guns, artillery… but the Kute Gang overpowered them."
"When their forces couldn't handle it, they sent in the Wild Beasts," Shalnark continued. "But even then, the Gang wore them down over time."
Franklin fell silent. "Our leader's goal to protect Meteor City makes sense. Strength is essential to fend off threats. If even the Kute Gang can overpower us, we have work to do."
Shalnark nodded solemnly. "Indeed. Our goal isn't just to sow chaos but to grow stronger. If every Troupe member could match Zeno or Silva Zoldyck's level, maybe we'd have a chance."
The Troupe had long accepted that raw power was more critical than evil itself. They realized that with enough strength, good or evil would suffice to protect Meteor City, but when their strength wasn't enough, they'd use their cunning to survive.
As the airship landed, Kaizen and Shizuku disembarked and headed straight to the 200th floor of Heavens Arena. As they reached the corridor, a figure emerged from the opposite side. It was the young fighter Kaizen had faced on the 199th floor before. The young man glanced at Kaizen, giving him a dismissive nod.
Returning the nod, Kaizen made his way to his luxurious suite. He knocked on the door.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The door swung open, and Nina and Polar Bear appeared in the doorway. Nina's eyes lit up with surprise when she saw him.
"Kaizen!" she greeted, her voice full of warmth.
Polar Bear also moved in close, nuzzling against Kaizen affectionately.
