108 HxH: The Strongest Assassin
🕑 Added 2024-11-08 07:25:35 +0000 UTC"Is this the tool the elders use to recruit fighters?"
Feitan held up the token, examining its intricate carvings, then glanced at Phinks.
Phinks nodded. "Yeah, that's what I was saying."
A shadow flickered in Feitan's eyes. "So, the elders are openly betraying the people of Meteor City now."
"The world's gangs, various kingdoms, and different factions all buy and sell people from Meteor City like livestock."
Phinks' expression hardened. "They don't even try to hide it anymore."
"But it's not just the elders. Some of those who were abandoned also want out of Meteor City."
"The resources here are just too scarce."
"Meteor City isn't what it used to be."
Feitan shook his head. "Why did it turn out like this?"
Phinks shrugged. "Who knows."
"Hey, Phinks, do you remember the first time we met?"
Phinks's mood lightened at the memory, and he smiled. "Of course I remember."
"Back then, Uvogin and his comrades held the strongest turf."
"Shalnark and the leader used to sneak around their territory in Block 207, trying to scavenge whatever they could, and got beaten up for it."
"The leader was pretty weak back then."
"Yeah, well, he couldn't even use Nen, so there was no way he could take on Uvogin."
"If Franklin hadn't intervened, the leader and Shalnark probably wouldn't have made it out."
"Then they ran into us."
"We fell for his schemes."
Feitan nodded. "The leader, who used to be the weakest among us, has now become our strongest. For Sarasa and for Meteor City, he's given more than any of us."
"I trust the leader."
"I believe in the leader's vision."
"And as long as we pursue this path of radical evil, Meteor City will eventually become what we want it to be."
"And we'll find whoever killed Sarasa."
Suddenly, Feitan frowned, looking at the token in his hand.
Crack!
The token shattered in Feitan's grip.
Kaizen's vision snapped back to reality as the image in his mind disappeared.
"Feitan, what's wrong?"
Feitan glared down at the fragments on the ground. "I think our conversation was just overheard."
Phinks glanced over. "Forget it, doesn't matter if someone heard us."
"We didn't say anything important."
"Let's go. We have a job to do."
Feitan nodded, but Kaizen wore a thoughtful expression.
"Judging by Feitan's reaction, he probably didn't know what the token could do at first."
"And even if he knew, he wouldn't expect that the token's core could transmit their conversation to me."
"Right now, there's no active conflict between the Phantom Troupe and the Zoldycks."
"That makes Feitan and Phinks's conversation mostly harmless."
"But it raises another question."
Kaizen's eyes narrowed as he analyzed the situation.
"In the original records, I thought the first members of the Phantom Troupe were seven. But now it seems like both Feitan and Phinks were part of the initial lineup."
"Then again, it was never fully confirmed that only seven members started the Troupe. That was just a theory."
"Still, if there were only seven originals, the number eleven doesn't make much sense."
"Also, judging by Feitan's words, the purpose of forming the Troupe wasn't solely for crime… but also for Meteor City?"
"And who was this Sarasa?"
Kaizen processed the information he'd gathered, comparing it with what he knew about the Phantom Troupe's history.
Ten days later, the recruitment on Meteor City had nearly ended, and most of the tokens had already been located. Only a few were still missing or being contested.
Zeno would be selecting from around 200 hopefuls, choosing ten potential butler trainees to bring back to the Zoldyck estate. Once there, they'd undergo further training and evaluation, with one eventually becoming Milluki's exclusive butler.
But Kaizen wasn't particularly focused on that.
What he cared about was the insight he'd gathered over these days observing Meteor City. His knowledge of Meteor City had finally reached 100%.
This meant that Kaizen's third Nen Beast was about to manifest.
"Grandpa Zeno, I'm going back to my room."
"Very well."
Kaizen returned to the room assigned by the elders, securing it for what was about to come.
Two figures appeared at his command—a streak of pink embodying the Killer Queen and another Nen Beast that took the form of a young man with sharp, predatory features.
One stood guard by the door, the other by the window.
In this way, Kaizen had ensured his safety, though the threat level here was low. This was the Elder district, after all, and the elders held absolute power here with Zeno present. No one would dare stir trouble.
"But from what I overheard," Kaizen mused, "the Phantom Troupe's return to Meteor City might not be just a casual visit. It could have a major impact."
"I remember in the Chimera Ant arc, the elders held a cautious attitude toward the Troupe."
"And during the Yorknew incident, Meteor City seemed to back the Troupe strongly."
"When the Mafia Community realized the Troupe came from Meteor City, they abandoned thoughts of revenge against them."
"The status of these elders in Meteor City might be about to shift."
Shaking off these thoughts, Kaizen focused on the crystal ball in front of him.
The progress bar had reached 100%, and a soft glow was radiating from within.
"Begin!"
At that moment, Kaizen felt the aura in his body surge into the crystal ball at an incredible speed.
It was exactly like before.
The crystal ball began to change colors.
Boom!
A burst sounded in Kaizen's mind as his consciousness seemed to slip into another realm, where visions danced before him.
