94 HxH: The Strongest Assassin

There was no room left for regret.
The conflict between them and the Kute Gang of Thieves was now beyond reconciliation, and it would only end when one side was completely defeated.
"Pfft!"
A spurt of blood splashed out.
One of the twins took a critical blow, a gaping wound piercing through her heart.
Old U pressed his advantage, relentless.
"Die!"
The woman collapsed, lifeless.
The other twin's face twisted in horror.
"Sister!"
Old U scoffed coldly.
"Don't worry, you're next!"
Meanwhile, the bald butcher was nearly spent, panting heavily as he faced Old T. The situation on the Wild Beasts' side was deteriorating quickly.
"Are they not here yet?" one of the men in a suit muttered, anxiously glancing back.
Then—
BOOM!
A deafening sound split the air as a fissure opened in the ground. From the chasm emerged a massive creature, sleek black and glaring with feral eyes.
"Squeak!"
It was an enormous rat. But it wasn't just any ordinary rat.
This was a disaster-level creature, akin to the giant cockroach Kaizen had encountered before.
"It's here!" one of the Kute Gang called out.
For the Kute Gang, coming to Meteor City was to summon these disasters. Their calculated destruction had already claimed millions of lives, all to provoke the birth of such a creature.
Once the disaster was born, killing it would yield materials for Nen tools—powerful artifacts they could craft for themselves.
Kaizen and the Wild Beasts—everyone else in Meteor City, for that matter—were merely obstacles to the Kute Gang.
Old K glanced around.
"Quit wasting time with these guys! Finish them off!"
The Kute Gang intensified their attack.
A white-haired boy fell, lifeless.
The bald butcher wavered, barely standing.
A shirtless young man was already down, nearly defenseless.
Old K commanded his Nen Beast forward, closing in on the shirtless youth.
But then, the giant rat sniffed the air and lunged toward them, swatting Old K's Nen Beast aside with ease. Its maw opened wide over the young man.
Crunch!
With a couple of gnashes, it swallowed the shirtless youth whole.
Old K felt the rat's aura surge slightly, growing stronger after consuming the body.
The giant rat set its gaze on another nearby corpse.
Old K's eyes widened in realization.
"We can't let this thing devour any more bodies! It'll only get harder to handle!"
After finishing off the remaining twin, Old U rushed over.
At the same moment, the bald butcher succumbed to Old T, leaving only the man in the suit.
"Still planning to fight?" Old O sneered at the suited man. "The Wild Beasts are finished."
Old O's gaze was cold.
"For a B-rank Nen user, you've done well."
He gave a slow nod.
"I'll offer you a chance."
"Join us, help us deal with this disaster, and after this is over, you'll be a part of the Kute Gang. It's a far better life than scraping by in Meteor City."
The man in the suit had indeed put up an impressive fight.
He was a B-rank Nen user, but his skills were closer to those of an A-rank. Old O even found himself a bit impressed.
At one time, even the Kute Gang had been plagued by constant infighting.
Old O saw this as no different.
The man in the suit surveyed his surroundings.
"Approval? From you?"
"You killed my people, and you expect me to join you? To be your lackey?"
"Do you honestly think I'm afraid of you?"
"If it weren't for your ambush, you wouldn't even come close to touching me."
"One-on-one, not one of you could stand against me."
"Don't underestimate us Wild Beasts!"
"Don't underestimate Meteor City!"
The man's aura shifted, flaring up sharply. It had been restrained, subdued, but now it cut through the air, razor-sharp.
Before, he'd been a sheathed blade.
Now, the sword was unsheathed.
His aura surged, shattering the boundary between B-rank and A-rank, easily outmatching the Kute Gang' A-rank users.
"Now, face the true power of my Nen!"
"The man after hours is the real me!"
"And you'll only be seeing a fraction of it."
"I'll take you all down, one by one!"
"I'll avenge my fallen brothers!"
"If it weren't for sheer bad luck, they wouldn't have died at all."
The man's eyes gleamed with fierce red. Despite their different allegiances, the Wild Beasts were his family, his responsibility.
He poured everything into managing the Wild Beasts, hoping that one day they'd live the lives they truly wanted.
But that day hadn't come—it had been stolen.
"Kute Gang!" he seethed. "This is all because of you!"
Because of the Kute Gang, the Wild Beasts had been dragged into this bloodbath.
Casualties were piling up.
Apart from the few who'd escaped, he was the only one left.
A gust of wind swept through, but it wasn't the least bit cooling. Instead, he felt flames seething within him—fiery rage, uncontained.
Old O narrowed his eyes, watching the man's transformation.
"So, you're using a restriction and an oath, huh?"
He sneered.
"How disappointing."
"You needed a restriction to reach this level? My mistake. You're not worthy of joining the Kute Gang, I'm rescinding my offer."
"Let's be clear," he continued coldly. "Even with that surge in power, you're no match for us."
Old K and Old U kept the giant rat at bay.
Old O squared off with the suited man alone.
Old T finally snuffed out the last of the butcher's life. He hesitated, deciding whether to deal with the giant rat first or finish off the suited man.
None of them noticed three figures hovering just above the battlefield.
A golden dragon soared in the sky.
On its back stood Zeno, Silva, and Raiken, eyes trained on the chaos below.
