84 HxH: The Strongest Assassin
🕑 Added 2024-10-30 13:27:30 +0000 UTC"There's no reason for us to hand over this material."
Zeno said calmly. "But we can't stay here long."
Following Zoldyck family principles: gather information first, fight later.
With their enemy's identity still unclear, Zeno wouldn't act rashly.
"Kaizen, your plan will need to wait for now. The exclusive butler will have to stand by."
"Understood," Kaizen replied, glancing at the crystal ball in front of him, feeling a pang of frustration.
He'd hoped to fully absorb the chaotic energy of Meteor City in one go. But now, the manifestation of his third Nen Beast would have to wait. Still, survival was the priority. A powerful Nen Beast was useless if you weren't alive to use it.
The reason Zeno hadn't attacked yet was simple: he wasn't entirely confident.
If someone even Zeno hesitated to confront was lurking behind the scenes, they must be formidable.
"There might be more of them," Zeno continued, his tone measured. "We can't rule that out—it's crucial."
Kaizen nodded.
"I'll make a move to test him soon, but I won't press the attack for long. If it works, good. If not, I'll retreat. Meanwhile, Kaizen, you head towards...."
"Got it, Grandpa Zeno."
Kaizen paused for a moment, then added, "Grandpa Zeno, I have a plan I'd like to run by you."
"Oh? What plan?" Zeno's sharp eyes met Kaizen's.
"My Nen Beast, Killer Queen, has a unique ability—it can create bombs."
Kaizen's voice dropped, explaining the intricacy of the ability. "There are two ways the bomb can detonate. First, it can explode on its own. Second, anything it touches can trigger an explosion."
"If we rely on the first method, a strong opponent could potentially resist the blast."
"But the second method—when they trigger it unknowingly—could be much harder to avoid."
"I've never revealed Killer Queen's ability to anyone," Kaizen added, a sly grin forming. "The enemy has no idea about it."
Zeno's eyes glimmered with interest.
"This is your Nen Beast's ability? That's remarkably complex. What's the condition for the explosion?"
"Simple. Just touch it," Kaizen said, nonchalantly.
Zeno blinked, surprised.
"Incredible. Typically, strong abilities have strict conditions or oaths. The simpler the activation, the more constrained it usually is. Take Chrollo's Skill Hunter—he needs to meet four specific conditions just to steal an ability."
Zeno folded his arms thoughtfully. "But your ability… It's too efficient. There must be hidden limitations."
Kaizen shrugged, not elaborating. The restrictions were personal.
Firstly, it took significant time and focus to absorb the characteristics of places like Zoldyck Manor. Secondly, Kaizen was a time traveler, a fact that served as both a powerful restriction and an oath in itself. Lastly, his mind held fragments of memories from another world—the world of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. That knowledge shaped Killer Queen, making Kaizen's restrictions unique.
Zeno gave a slight nod, satisfied for now.
"Your ability is dangerous," he said, "especially in the hands of a Specialist like you. The bombs you create will be powerful enough to pose a serious threat."
Kaizen grinned confidently. In the world of Nen, levels weren't absolute. A weaker fighter could still injure or even defeat a stronger one under the right conditions.
"It's like how Hisoka nearly lost to Kastro, or how Nobunaga underestimated weaker opponents."
Zeno's expression softened.
"I'll create the opening you need," Zeno promised. "But be cautious."
"Don't worry, Grandpa Zeno," Kaizen said with a smirk. "I'm not some reckless brat. I'll be careful."
Both men exchanged a knowing look. Then, without another word, they dashed forward, their movements fluid and precise. In an instant, they abandoned the bystanders—Parker and Peter—without a second thought.
The shadow watching from afar realized too late what was happening.
"Damn it… They noticed me!"
The figure bolted from cover, knowing he'd been exposed.
Zeno glanced over his shoulder, catching sight of a middle-aged man emerging from the darkness.
Zeno's eyes narrowed. Without hesitation, he pivoted mid-stride and charged toward the man. His speed was terrifying.
Kaizen followed closely behind, matching his grandfather's momentum.
But there was another presence nearby—Raiken.
Raiken's movements were deliberate, his aura growing stronger with every step. His muscles contorted unnaturally, twisting and reshaping until the image of a demonic face emerged across his back.
"Ghostback form…"
In this enhanced state, Raiken was far more dangerous, exuding a palpable aura of menace. The middle-aged man's eyes widened, feeling the pressure mounting.
Zeno's relentless attack left him no time to think. He was already on the defensive, barely keeping up.
"I underestimated them…" the man muttered, gritting his teeth. "This old man is monstrous—but that kid, too? How can someone that young be so skilled?"
His heart pounded in frustration.
"We've come too far to fail now…"
The disasters the man's group had orchestrated were almost within their grasp, after years of planning and countless sacrifices. Now, everything was at risk of being stolen from them.
"Where the hell is he?" the man thought bitterly. He wanted to look back, but Zeno's attacks left no room for distractions.
