64 HxH: The Strongest Assassin
🕑 Added 2024-10-30 13:12:55 +0000 UTCThe main function of colored eggs is observation.
As a secondary effect, they enhance the physique of living beings. The method is straightforward: cook them and eat.
The same goes for these eggs, though they focus on only one aspect of enhancement—explosive power.
Kaizen eyed the egg with curiosity, while Lina glanced around the kitchen. The luxury suites in Heavens Arena had kitchens, but hardly anyone used them. Kaizen was no exception. The space had been collecting dust since he checked in.
"There aren't any big cooking utensils here," Lina remarked, leaning on the counter.
Kaizen shrugged. "We'll just have to improvise."
Cooking, after all, involves breaking down the structure of food—whether by heat or other methods. A thought crossed Kaizen's mind.
He recalled an obscure Nen technique: using aura to alter or break down food from within.
"Let's try this," Kaizen muttered.
He raised both hands toward the egg.
"Condensation!"
A pulse of aura surged into his hands, condensing tightly around the egg. Slowly, his aura wrapped the entire surface like a protective cocoon, emitting faint wisps of heat.
The egg's insides began to tremble, vibrating as if the liquid inside were coming alive.
"Damn, this is harder than I thought." Kaizen's brow furrowed. "Maintaining this level of control takes serious focus."
But then, a smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.
"This could be good training for aura control... convenient and effective."
He was genuinely surprised by the unexpected challenge. With every passing second, the tension in the room thickened. Kaizen's aura, exerting steady pressure, began to radiate outward.
Lina took an instinctive step back. Even though Carlisle's ability made her part-synthetic beast, Kaizen's sheer presence overwhelmed her senses.
"His aura feels heavy," Lina thought, her nerves on edge.
Suddenly, a sharp crack pierced the silence.
Kaizen stopped his technique just as a fracture appeared on the egg's shell. A fragrant aroma burst forth, filling the room. Then, as if guided by unseen forces, the vibrant red of the shell drained inward, absorbed back into the egg's contents.
Kaizen peeled back the shell, revealing the insides—pink, soft, and shimmering with heat.
The aroma alone was mouth-watering. Kaizen grabbed a spoon, scooped a portion, and took a bite.
The egg's texture was chewy and satisfying, and the flavor lingered on his palate. As he swallowed, a wave of warmth spread through his body, radiating outward to his limbs.
"Not bad," Kaizen murmured.
Though his body was already strong, he could still sense subtle improvements. The egg's effects, though faint, were noticeable.
Jesse collected red eggs as trophies. Kaizen had no such interest—if it could help him get stronger, he'd use it. Before long, he finished the entire egg in silence.
Being a Nen user meant having enhanced digestion, and his body could easily handle food that ordinary people couldn't stomach.
Lina watched, eyes brimming with curiosity, but Kaizen didn't offer her a bite. He wasn't sure if eating the egg would interfere with the suppression of Carlisle's Nen. The risk wasn't worth it.
Two Days Later: The Floor Master Challenge Begins
The day of Juliana's Floor Master challenge arrived. Kaizen made his way to the arena early. The venue quickly filled with spectators, all eager to witness the rare event. Floor Master challenges were uncommon, with only a handful taking place each year.
In the ring, Juliana stood across from her opponent: a one-eyed, middle-aged man with an aura that exuded quiet confidence.
"Condensation."
Kaizen activated his aura, focusing his gaze on the fighters. He carefully observed their aura flows.
"Let the match begin!" the referee called, and the arena fell silent.
Juliana dashed forward without hesitation, aiming to close the gap between her and the one-eyed man.
But just as she reached him—
"Pushing Hands!"
With a subtle push, the one-eyed man sent Juliana flying backward with shocking force. The impact sent her crashing out of the ring before she could even react.
"Winner!"
The announcer's voice echoed through the stunned arena.
The crowd erupted in disbelief.
"What just happened?"
"Wasn't Juliana on a winning streak? How did she lose in one move?"
"This feels rigged!"
Kaizen narrowed his eyes, evaluating the scene.
Juliana wasn't weak—her skill level had already surpassed the E-rank, placing her at D-rank, albeit on the lower end. Her opponent, however, clearly operated at a higher level. Kaizen estimated the one-eyed man was at least C-rank.
"He's far below someone like Hisoka or Chrollo," Kaizen thought, "but he's still dangerous."
Kaizen followed the flow of people out of the arena, his mind still processing what he had seen.
An Unexpected Encounter
As Kaizen walked down a dim corridor, a familiar figure stepped into his path.
It was the one-eyed man—the same opponent who had just crushed Juliana in the ring.
"Kaizen," the man greeted him, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Kaizen's eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"Relax. I mean you no harm."
The one-eyed man's tone was calm, almost friendly.
"I just wanted to thank you," he continued. "My disciple spoke highly of you. It seems you've done him quite a favor."
Kaizen raised an eyebrow, his mind racing. Disciple? Who could this man be referring to?
