Relying on his advanced dice skills, Ronnel made a killing at all the major casinos, wiping out tens of billions of Jenny. He turned the casino heads green with envy and frustration, and soon they started sending people to investigate him.
However, Ronnel used his Face-Changing Nen ability to enter and leave the casinos, wearing the faces of corpses he had touched.
Looking for information on these people? You'd better check the graves~
After accumulating so much wealth, Ronnel noticed that the casinos were like mad dogs, sniffing around for him, so he decided to stop while ahead and began investigating some rare gemstones instead.
As the saying goes, the best way to deal with someone is to understand what they like.
Ronnel wanted to acquire a rare gemstone as a way to secure a meeting with Biscuit.
He eventually discovered that the rich person, located in the capital of Constantine in the Republic of Bretolia, owned a highly precious gemstone.
Recently, he had undergone some major upheavals. It was said that he provoked someone he shouldn't have. His family's external industries were wiped out, and more shockingly, he and his entire family, young and old, were slaughtered in one night. No one was spared.
Their estate was burned to the ground, leaving nothing behind.
Only his nephew had been away at the time, showcasing some of the family's treasures outside the city. This twist of fate allowed him to escape, taking his people and goods with him.
However, due to the curse hanging over the name, the nephew soon met his end as well, leaving him the accidental heir to the title.
After the tragedy in the wake of the disaster, the remaining estate was sold at a low price.
Among the items for sale was the Queen's Mermaid's Tears.
Upon learning this, Ronnel couldn't help but lament their misfortune, his own good fortune, and the chaotic world they lived in. Without hesitation, he spent 99% of his accumulated wealth to purchase the gem.
He had no idea that the rich man's death was indirectly linked to his own captain.
Perhaps only God knows the strange ways fate intertwines their lives…
While Ronnel eagerly anticipated the next steps, Wing had finished his phone call and approached him.
Under Ronnel's expectant gaze, Wing spoke slowly:
"The teacher has agreed to meet with you. However, she's currently out of town and won't be able to come immediately. But don't worry, she'll arrive tomorrow morning after handling her other matters."
"Really? Thank you so much, Mr. Wing. Here, take this gem first. When Biscuit arrives, give it to her directly, and then call me."
Suppressing the excitement within, Ronnel handed over the wooden box with a calm smile.
Wing, surprised by the gesture, hesitated.
"Mr. Ronnel, aren't you afraid I might steal the gem?"
"Of course not. Mr. Wing, you're a apprentice of Master Biscuit. You'd never do something like that."
With that subtle bit of flattery, Ronnel could visibly feel the tension and wariness in Wing ease by more than half.
"Well, since you trust me, I suppose it's not necessary to take the gem in advance. Let's wait until the Master arrives tomorrow."
After exchanging contact information, Wing left with Zushi, disappearing into the crowd.
Tomorrow, I'll meet Biscuit!
Ronnel felt a surge of excitement and waved his arms toward the sky in anticipation.
Just one more day to wait!
The following two days passed slowly in Ronnel's heightened anticipation.
Despite his excitement, Ronnel kept his usual routine, regularly visiting the morgue to collect corpses.
By the night before his meeting with Biscuit, he had finally gathered enough blue-skinned skill books to synthesize a red-skinned advanced martial arts skill book.
(T/N: blue - intermediate; red - advanced)
With this, Ronnel's martial arts talent would advance, making him a prodigy on par with Gon and Killua—an exceptional talent, found only once in tens of millions.
This newfound confidence made him even more eager to learn Nen from Biscuit. After all, on Greed Island, Biscuit had only taken Gon and Killua under her wing because of their immense potential.
Ronnel believed that with his current level of talent, he could certainly catch her eye and persuade her to teach him!
Of course, that was only Ronnel's assumption. The real test would come when he finally met Biscuit.
The night passed in silence. The next day arrived.
As the first rays of the morning sun illuminated Ronnel, he basked in its warmth, enjoying the beauty of dawn. His phone suddenly rang.
"Mr. Ronnel? My master has arrived. She's at the café to the left of Heavens Arena."
It was Wing's voice.
"Got it. I'll head there right away."
Hanging up the call, Ronnel dialed Shizuku, donned his black windbreaker, and left his room.
In the café near the entrance of Heavens Arena, patrons frequently glanced toward a certain booth.
