128 HxH: Tombbound Power

Those who won could stay. Those who lost left in shame, beaten and humiliated.
Chaos soon followed.
But that chaos? Exactly what Ronnel had hoped for.
With a few well-placed punches and kicks, they chased off some arrogant challengers and finally secured a decent room. The game was simple—anyone who dared to knock on their door looking for a fight? They'd break their legs and toss them out like garbage. After dealing with four or five of these nuisances, the city finally quieted down.
In truth, Ronnel and his group weren't too interested in entering Cruz Cemetery. However, it became impossible to ignore the buzz: news was spreading fast. Word was that the Amethyst Grape Crystal had been found inside the cemetery.
Unfortunately, the poor soul who discovered the artifact died before he could reveal its exact location. But since he was a well-known adventurer with a reputation for finding rare items, most believed his final words.
The Seven Beauties of the world are nearly impossible to find. Each one fetches a fortune on the market. Before the Kurta Clan was slaughtered by the Phantom Troupe, their scarlet eyes were beyond value.
Originally, 128 Kurta existed—a seemingly significant number. But in a world with a population of over 8 million just within Meteor City, and billions across six continents, they were barely a drop in the ocean.
When those red eyes hit the underground auctions in Yorknew City, only 36 pairs remained. Each pair became the crown jewel of the black market. With such demand for rare beauties, the rumor of the Amethyst Grape Crystal was enough to set the entire city ablaze.
Ronnel, Shizuku, and Bisky spent two days in their hotel, waiting for the chaos to settle. Finally, they got the information they were waiting for.
"The Amethyst Grape Crystal is in the southwest corner of Cruz Cemetery."
According to the rumors, it could only be spotted briefly at sunrise—a flash of stunning purple glimmering in the sun's first light.
The moment this news broke, people stormed the cemetery without hesitation.
"We'll wait for the storm to pass," Bisky muttered, casually flipping through a high-end beauty magazine. She glanced out the window at the bustling crowd and smirked.
"Let them charge in first and trigger all the traps. Once everything's stirred up, we'll head inside. Much easier that way."
Ronnel and Shizuku nodded, content to enjoy their peace a little longer.
Meanwhile, across town, a young man surrounded by bodyguards spoke quietly to the leader of his security team.
"When someone finally finds the Amethyst Grape Crystal, we'll make our move." His voice was calm, but there was a dangerous gleam in his eyes. "Offer the finder money—enough for him to leave it behind without a fuss. If he refuses…"
A cold glint flickered in his gaze.
"...Handle it."
The bodyguard gave a slight nod. "Understood."
"And Kent—make sure it's done quietly. No witnesses." The young man's tone sharpened. "We don't need any more negative press around the V5. There are already too many rumors about someone scheming against the five-nation alliance. Another ambitious king, no doubt..."
Kent nodded again. "I'll make sure no one knows."
By midday, Ronnel, Bisky, and Shizuku decided it was time to move.
"All right, let's head toward that crystal." Bisky stretched her arms and grinned, leading the way toward Cruz Cemetery.
The three of them made for a strange group: an energetic martial artist, a stoic assassin, and a cheerful woman obsessed with beauty. Their mismatched appearance earned curious glances from the other adventurers crowding the area.
Tourist spots around the cemetery had already closed to the public. The trio slipped through the gates with ease and made their way deeper inside.
The air grew heavy as they ventured further into the cemetery. The scent of rot and decay lingered in the air, and ancient resentment seemed to drift like a mist among the graves.
What lay ahead wasn't just a cemetery—but a battlefield littered with bodies, abandoned by time. Each corpse exuded an aura of lingering hatred and death, making even the most hardened adventurers uneasy.
Bisky wrinkled her nose, but pressed forward. "It's worse than I thought."
They carefully navigated around scattered corpses, avoiding any traps or signs of recent danger. It was clear that others had tried—and failed—to raid the cemetery.
"Things are already shifting…" Bisky murmured, her eyes narrowing as she examined a cluster of freshly killed bodies.
"Outsiders," Ronnel noted calmly. "They didn't last long."
For most people, this place would be a nightmare. But not for Ronnel. Here, surrounded by death and decay, he saw an opportunity.
A place like this? It was a paradise to improve his strength.
Ronnel stepped forward, ready to absorb the resentment and malice clinging to the corpses. Bisky watched him with cautious curiosity. "Are you really going to…?"
Ronnel grinned. "Why not?"
He raised his hands slowly. The moment he did, the swirling hatred lingering around the dead surged toward him, as if drawn by a magnetic pull.
"Let's get started," Ronnel whispered.
Hours later, when the next wave of treasure hunters entered the mausoleum, they found the place eerily silent.
Cruz Cemetery was known as The Great Terror, feared for the countless warriors buried within its soil. Over 80,000 soldiers had been laid to rest here, alongside those who perished in failed raids. Nearly 100,000 bodies filled the graves—a staggering concentration of death.
And with so much death, there came power.
Ronnel could feel it—the immense energy of decayed life flowing into him. It was overwhelming, intoxicating.
Bisky trailed behind him, watching his progress with fascination. "You're absorbing all this energy… and the corpse poison too?"
Ronnel nodded, grinning like a madman.
"If I can take it all in, I might reach a level strong enough to rival even the Chimera Ant King."
He pressed forward, collecting every ounce of malice and death in his path. For him, this graveyard wasn't a place to fear.
It was the ultimate training ground.
Bisky chuckled softly, now completely at ease with the ominous atmosphere around them. Humming a lighthearted tune, she followed Ronnel deeper into the cemetery.
