053 HxH: Tombbound Power
🕑 Added 2024-10-06 10:49:50 +0000 UTCWing also saw the scene of the host falling to the ground in the ring, the commentator's aggrieved look resembling a rooster whose throat had been ripped off, and the figure of Ronnel stepping off the stage slowly.
Listening to the gasps and uncomfortable murmurs from the audience on TV, he was left speechless.
This eye-catching battle had ended in less than two minutes.
If Ronnel had won this victory through a hard-fought battle, it would've made for a very interesting match. But Ronnel won so effortlessly that one could suspect it was a rigged fight.
Had that junior, who had only just joined Heavens Arena half a year ago, already reached this level?
He had already gained the position of Floor Master, but how long had he been training under master Bisky?
Apart from laying the foundation, the practice of Nen alone would typically take one or two years, right?
There's really no comparison between people~
Wing was filled with emotion but had no extra thoughts.
"Although this Floor Master isn't particularly powerful, he's still a Floor Master. For Ronnel to take him down in a single blow means there's likely no suspense in the upcoming Battle Olympia~"
On TV, the commentator girl, despite her initial shock, quickly regained her professionalism.
"Let's congratulate Ronnel on his victory and for officially becoming the Floor Master of the 220th floor!!"
No one in the audience booed. Even the gamblers who lost their bets could only join in and cheer for Ronnel.
This is Heavens Arena, the world's most famous fighting arena. After every match, it's a tradition, or perhaps an unwritten rule, to give blessings to the victor.
The applause, which had initially been for the fallen Floor Master, now shifted to Ronnel.
As for the former Floor Master lying dead on the ground, very few paid attention except for the arena staff who came to handle the body.
This is the reality of this world: the strong possess everything, and the weak have nothing but death.
Even though this world has reached a level of modern civilization with technology, because of the existence of Nen and the influence of the V5, it remains a place where the weak are prey to the strong, though it is veiled under a thin layer of modern society. It's not as raw as the streets of Meteor City, but still, the same principles apply.
The reporters in the arena, sitting on the bottom floor, hurriedly rose from their seats and rushed toward Ronnel with expressions of anxiety and excitement.
They wanted to interview Ronnel, to get first-hand news. Even a few words from him could lead to a story of thousands of words.
Already, they were crafting eye-catching headlines in their minds.
The martial arts competition was not just a battle between fighters—it was also a contest among journalists and news agencies. Whoever could get the scoop first would dominate the news cycle, gaining a significant edge in profits and exposure.
Given the various stakes tied to betting, even small tidbits of information about the fight were worth more than some entertainment news stories.
Not everyone could witness the match live, and those who bet through different channels had to rely on news related to Heavens Arena to stay informed.
With such a massive audience, the circulation of these kinds of newspapers was staggering.
Especially at this crucial moment, the news value of such a decisive match was immense.
However, Ronnel ignored the swarm of reporters racing toward him. After the referee declared him the winner, he simply grabbed the fallen Floor Master and made his way to the exit, leaving behind a frustrated, foot-stomping crowd of reporters.
Once again, Ronnel had evaded them!
Most contestants above the 200th floor were there for fame and fortune. Post-match interviews were something they enjoyed, as it allowed them to boost their reputation with the help of the media.
The reporters were long used to contestants eagerly participating in interviews after their matches. Who could have predicted that Ronnel, a dark horse who had suddenly appeared, would never accept their interviews?
Since his first win days ago, Ronnel had already won eight consecutive matches—yet he never stayed for a post-match interview.
He always left immediately after, like a breeze, much to the reporters' bewilderment and frustration.
At first, the reporters were simply caught off guard, but after six games, they had spent considerable sums on scalpers just to get a chance to intercept Ronnel.
But every time, they missed him, watching helplessly as he walked through the special exit for competitors.
This time, they had hoped that, having gained the title of Floor Master, he would finally indulge them with an interview in his moment of triumph.
But they had hoped for too much.
Ronnel remained consistent, and they, like everyone else, could only watch in helpless frustration as he left the arena.
Meanwhile, many people were watching the live broadcast of the match from their homes.
"Yohoho, another one-hit kill?"
