🕑 Added 2020-06-17 02:35:59 +0000 UTCApologies for the gap in updates! Had to jump to some other scenes I'm getting assistance with and move them along before resuming. This update has the marines painted up as the 'Void Hounds', the owner will have to speak up as I'm unaware of their Patreon name!
Starting off is a little breakdown of the lighting setup so far, faking some general ambient fill with dome lights, and then a box with holes poked in the top to let in sunlight from another dome/image light :) Basic scene setup is that the marines are underground with some sunlight breaking through. Finally some dust/atmospherics added.
The environment props aren't a big focus in this shot so I'm grabbing some assets from Megascans to place around as needed. And the background will fade into darkness around the marines fairly quickly for a vignette feel.
Also whipped up a chainsword for the shot. By no means claiming this is a realistic design but I like it as a break from the common chunky version. It's not super detailed but will do the job for the shots it'll be in.
This video is a little long so don't hesitate to skip the boring parts!
