3 is great

Charles House

Her and kirk share the first interracial kiss on TV.

Chuck M

Leo so are you going to start star trek journey through all movies with captn kirk and spock to captn Picard and then newer star trek ones , ? That's cool yes I'm die hard star wars fan but I enjoy these just as much very entertaining and special effects get better over time enjoy em my man. I cant remember what episode of starwars left on but you'll get to them , and starwars series are really good despite people complaining but just have watch see what you think

Charles House

Odd numbered Star Trek are meh, even numbered kick ass.

Felicia Wiggins

Never have I ever watched a Star Trek movie or show (outside of an episode or 2)!! lm a die hard Star Wars fan n was prepared to skip this shit entirely... until u loaded up the sequel the NEXT DAM DAY!! Ur forcing me to do this Leo n gotdammit it that Khan better be better than this BS!! I dont think I've ever fallen asleep so many times on 1 movie ๐Ÿ˜ซ HOWEVER - I โค๏ธ U Leo so I'm goin back in!! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Chaos T

I've come to appreciate this film more over time. It has a very Star Trek storyline, if that makes any sense. It also highlights the quality of the series when this is one of the worst ones. On balance, I think the Star Trek franchise is the most consistent scifi franchise in terms of the movies they produced. The fanbase doesn't seem to hate them or be divided on the various films like we've seen in other franchises.

Chaos T

This is a film that I've come to appreciate more over time as it has one of the best pure Star Trek storylines from the movies. This film also highlights what sets Star Trek apart from a lot of other science fiction franchise. We get to see humanity at its best and there's always a message of hope for an undiscovered future.

JaimeCorona

Hey leo you should try out The Maze Runner series, or The Hunger games series. Also Rise, Dawn, war and kingdom of the planet of the apes are all really good!!

Al

Hey Leo. Please put Atlanta down onto a poll

Anti(Adam)

It was very diverse for its time for sure. It makes sense, considering the crew is representing a whole planet

james sanders

I hope that you watch all the Star Trek movies also would like for you to finish Indiana Jones series that would be awesome

Greg

Uhura made huge waves when the TV show came out. Something about being a black woman on a mostly white show.

Ivan Ooze

Ok I canโ€™t hate but you should watch Star Trek original series and then next gen. Before movies. But this is fun for trekkies . GABAGOOL

EZ

PLEASE WATCH STAND BY ME, I KNOW YOU LOVE THEM EARLY 80s MOVIES

StarryEyes

this is a wild start to your Star Trek journey bro! Love that you just dove headfirst!

Greg

Wow, the original! Have a feeling you'll like the 2010s Chris pine versions more. But star trek/ star wars started the space/sci fi genre... and the day the earth stood still.

KG

They took more inspiration from 2001 and Close Encounters for this movie...that slow place of discovery. I'm glad it isn't all laser battles and high fives, but both the original TV series and The Next Generation had a great balance between fun, sci fi, and friendship.

Reinmaker

This is a good start. When I was a kid I started Star Trek with the movies. Was around when Next Generation started. Highly recommend the next 3 films as they make a great Trilogy and are all top notch. If you do get into the actual TV Shows, they are a bit Goofy at times but also very well done. Great Scifi. Star Trek could be a good series to follow after you complete Always Sunny. After Star Trek 6 I would recommend watching Star Trek the Next Generation or select episodes of it before continuing the movies, should you continue.

Laura Thate

Trans humanism.

Filby Pott

V'Ger knows buttholes, we saw its giant pulsating anus on full display in this movie

Cayley

D-Matrix

Makes me wanna watch Galaxy Quest again.

D-Matrix

I agree. Watching Next Generation, then the related movies was how I feel most ppl born in the 80s started. Back then the retro versions of shows wasn't as readily available as today so a kid like me ignored the old shows because ... they were old.

D-Matrix

This one is kinda tough. It's been out so long, I didn't watch the show regularly, but it was always on any night so I of course caught plenty of episodes. Mainly Next Generation. The movie where they go back in time was what got me into it fan wise. But having zero star trek experience and going into their 1st movie might be super difficult. I own this and a few other ST movies but it's still hard to get into.

D-Matrix

Accurate AF

Stef Furness

ok, well between this and White Men Can't Jump, I'd like to humbly recommend Renaissance Man from the early 90s. Danny Devito teaches english to some army recruits - Mark Wahlberg, Stacy Dash, and the kid from A Bronx Tale (also a banger movie for your list if you haven't seen it). Danny's daughter is played by the mom from Ted.

Violet

Should have watched the 2009 Star Trek. I love the original Star Trek but the new ones have the action and special effects.

DABSLABOG

for the love of all that is holy if you dont wantch the rest of the os films watch the tng ones and if you cant do that you have to wath the chris pine ones

Filby Pott

"Granted I just met the Captain, but he's kinda giving me asshole vibes." LOL don't worry, that's just William Shatner for you.

Daniel R

Star Trek The Next Generation is MUST WATCH for Trekkies

TJ Harrington

The aliens are already here Leo. Keep an eye out, use your gut instinct, youโ€™ll find em

Filby Pott

it suffers from being a pre-Star Wars sci-fi movie that came out in the post-Star Wars era

Filby Pott

I rewatched TOS season 1 recently, most of it holds up pretty well IMO, but yeah TNG is where the franchise finds its footing

KG

This film is great if you're into Trek, but as an intro...slow and dry for a modern audience.

clays283

*the best introduction to the franchise.

clays283

I really do hope you watch the next one. This isnt

Andrew S

If you decide to start one of the series go straight to Star Trek The Next Generation, that's a good starting point to start watching

Astrobuckshot

Haven't seen this but I heard it's kinda trippy... so I come prepared ๐Ÿ˜† Should be a fun one, Mr. V.๐Ÿ‘

Vito

If you didnโ€™t like the original series you should check out next generations or deep space 9

Vito

Paramount plus put out the directors cut a few years ago way way better movie. They redid the original print of the movie in 4K re did the special effects and cut the movie better. It is worth watching imo I think it flows a lot better

Jesse S

You should watch The Orville itโ€™s like Star Trek but with comedy

Matthew Swindell

This one is skipable honest, this movie has put me to sleep every time id seen it, but I'll watch it with you. But yaknow star trek 2 the wrath of khan is a way better movie to start with if your into doing trek. While we are on the subject of 2nd movies in a series of movies how about Scream 2?

Anti(Adam)

I never liked the show but i enjoyed all the movies. Thanks for this

Justin Bulkley

Personally I just kind of fall asleep in the middle of this one for some reason. I have watched it a few times, but it drags for me. I haven't seen the directions cut, I watched this bad boy on vhs.

Vito

The directors cut is 20x better and fixes most of the problems. The original version which is what this is, is rough in some places but bad? No one considers this movie the worst movie of all time. The effects are ass though, which if this was the directors cut would have fixed.

SpicyRikers

Thank you for giving star trek a shot leo! You may not enjoy the older stuff like most people and that's okay, theres alot of star trek things to try out, old and new! This feels like a miracle that you did this reaction and I'm hyped as hell, definitely loading up with a fat doink on this one ๐Ÿ˜† Kirk also isnt my favourite captain we get to know in star trek lol, I agree hes a little bit of an asshole sometimes ๐Ÿ˜†

CHROME DeePo

Star Trek 2009 please

dmh killah

More Woody Harrelson when you get the chance: Natural Born Killers (1994) KingPin (1996) Semi-pro (2008) Seven Psychopaths (2012) Out of the Furnace (2013)

Justin Bulkley

This is considered one of the worst movies if not the worst in the series. So if you liked this you'll love everything else.

Vito

Ayyy lol thanks for doing this bro you really are the goat most reactors just do the terrible new ones. If you continue on with this series youโ€™re in for a hell of a ride. Wrath of kahn is next and itโ€™s arguably the best in the series and a must watch. For additional context, I highly recommend watching the original series episode space seed, it gives the entire backstory. Again really appreciate you Leo!

MajorMayhem

Tin Foil wonโ€™t stop against an anal probe Leo, protect them cheeks.

Rhoda J

Hey ๐Ÿ‘‹ there handsome, how is everything in your world going, hopefully good, I donโ€™t think putting foil on your head is going to help you ๐Ÿ˜‚, I will have to tell you about our UFO ๐Ÿ›ธ encounter sometime, real talk, stay safe out there, thanks for the upload ๐“›๐“ธ๐“ฟ๐“ฎ ๐“จ๐“ธ๐“พ ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ
