I agree! My grandpa passed this October and he was born in 1940. He had a great impact on a lot of people’s lives and I can only hope my generation learns that the only way to move forward is by getting back to local communities. (I’m gen z) Have a merry Christmas!

This movie came out when I was one years old. We are already been through World War I, the Great Depression, the second world war, and people believed in community. They grew their own gardens, raised their own chickens, and pigs, and Christmas was a time where the community got together to celebrate in my each other. The actor who played George actually fought in world war 2 as many stars of his era. Our country came together as never before, but during hard times there were always horrible people like Potter. They’re like a cancer that has continued to grow putting its boot on the neck of most Americans now. It’s time for Americans to block by block community by communityto remember to love and care for each other build and help one another follow the examples of the past now, more than ever, we need love, commitment to community in order to regrow a purposely divided nation.

I don't know how many times i have watched this movie, but i tear up at the end EVERY time...I like to think that George and Mary got to go travel in their retirement, and spent xmas's surrounded by tons of grandchildren who adored them, and when George passed they put a statue up for him in town.
