Sort of a buildup! Actions you take over the course of this questline can +1 to different outcomes, and by the end the one with the highest score wins out.

Ahh, so corruption in this instance is more of a hardcore path that Charlotte’s sadly forced into, then reluctantly eventually accepts, then enjoys. Reminiscent of how a depraved Claire ends up enjoying being choked by thugs when caught, having to do a fair few depraved things herself to get into it?

The corruption is not instantaneous. This instance softens Charlotte up to the idea of future depravity, instilling in her the idea that it's ok/accepted/required to do such things, and +1s to a corruptive state that if escalated, leads to some dark scenarios.
