The exciter doesn't make anything better, but helps to get rid of the echo. I think the goal was to get rid of the background noise or ambiance echo of the room, but then you get that ‘metallic’ effect for sure. I think maybe Alex was trying to get rid of the sound of her barking dogs and a bird (or a parrot) she has, but I think it’s adorable when her animals are doing their thing in the background. =)
