Not to mention, 15 real-life years of that relationship, going by the year on that strip (I know QC in-universe works on its own timescale separate from ours for practical reasons, but still). I don't know, I'm surprised. I feel like a breakup over an impulse decision would be more direct. Though it could be one of those things where their arguments kept coming back around to it; eventually they decided to throw in the towel. Or Cosette wanted Steve to return the boat, and he didn't want to. Alternatively: that strip is from the universe where Dora and Tai's wedding took place at Veronica and Jim's, and we're in a different timeline.

Not that I am aware of. The usual usage is that your ship needed to have everything tied down and be in good repair when docking at Bristol because you might be grounded by the tide. I double checked this given that docking where your boat is likely to be grounded sounds like a bad idea. Several reasonably trustworthy sites all agree though. The harbour guide page I checked says the same as the others but adds, "In 1803 the problem was resolved by the construction of the Floating Harbour."
