Shooting Star - Trick or Treat

"What, do you think I'm not?" Zoe demanded, glaring at her friend. "You're the one who wanted to wear these stupid things!"
To be fair, Zoe hadn't exactly fought back, certainly not after seeing how hot they looked in them. Still, they definitely didn't do much to protect the girls from the air as it cooled, now that the sun was going down, being barely more than lingerie. Both costumes consisted of a cropped corset top, ending well above their belly buttons, and tiny, lacy skirts that were almost see-through, and almost short enough to show off their panties underneath anyway, along with some knee socks and platform shoes, gold for both, though Reilly's were shinier and Zoe's had a bow on the toes.
Reilly's whole costume was yellow, tiny roses appliqued onto the skirt, and right in the middle of the neckline of the top; Zoe's skirt was yellow as well, the top blue with red accents, and she had a headband with a huge red bow to finish her costume off. They were, of course, not officially licensed by any means, but Reilly was meant to be Belle and Zoe was Snow White.
Which was exactly why the little girl had caught Zoe's eye as the pair shuffled down the sidewalk towards the party they were going to. She was also dressed as Snow White, although in a very different way. Her dress was all one piece, the details printed flatly onto the fabric, with the addition of a white Peter Pan collar. The bow in her hair was even bigger, and there was one at her waist, too. The skirt was similarly short, if not as translucent, and her shoes were little yellow Mary Janes, the bows on them looking far more natural than on Zoe's version.
She was adorable, Zoe had to admit, even if she wasn't, usually, the biggest fan of children, walking along beside her mother, clinging to her hand, apparently either not big enough to carry her candy bucket herself, or too tired out from a night of trick-or-treating to do it anymore, her mom gamely holding it in her other hand.
"Now, Ronni," the woman was lecturing, "we have time for one more house, okay? And then you have to get home and get ready for bed."
"But Mommy!" Ronni whined. "It's Halloween!"
"I know it's Halloween, young lady," her mother told her patiently. "This is already past your bedtime!"
There was something so simple about it, so sweet... Zoe liked what Halloween was now, the college version of dressing up all sexy, going to parties, drinking, dancing... She liked it, but she couldn't say she loved it, exactly, not the way she'd loved Halloween when she was little. She'd always regretted letting the other kids in middle school bully her into thinking she was too old to trick-or-treat, making her miss out on her last couple good years.
Honestly, as late a bloomer as she'd been, she might have been able to get away with it even longer than that, except that, of course, if she'd been to self-conscious about it at eleven, there was no way she'd risk it at fourteen when she had to worry that someone from school would see her and recognize her. And now it was far, far too late...
She sighed, staring longingly at the pair as they headed away, while Reilly continued to grouse at her. There had just been something at the sight that had felt so nostalgic, that had reminded her of how great the holiday used to be.
It was then that she noticed it, flashing through the darkening sky. She tilted her head up, smiling softly as she saw the shooting star there. She wasn't sure what, exactly, possessed her to do it, whether it was sadness over times long past, or some of the holiday magic rubbing off on her, but she heard herself mumbling, "Man, I wish it was okay for me to trick or treat just like her."
Her cheeks began to warm as soon as she realized what she'd done, what she'd said, looking straight at the little girl so there was no mistaking what she meant. She fully expected Reilly to make fun of her...
But Reilly wasn't there anymore. Or, rather, Zoe wasn't where she had been... She was standing on a front porch that was covered in jack o'lanterns, somewhat messily - but clearly lovingly - carved, candles flickering inside, a plastic skeleton propped up in a rocking chair.
"W-Wait, how did...?" she frowned, peering around, then down at herself, right on time to see her costume shifting, changing, the fabric growing stiffer, thicker, melding together, the platforms dissolving from her shoes... Strangest of all, however, was what was happening beneath her skirt. Her panties were quickly expanding, growing thicker and bulkier, the outside turning slick, the inside even softer and puffier against her privates.
She recognized what the costume was becoming almost instantly, her suspicions confirmed when she saw the ribbon sprout between the two halves as they grew together, a bow appearing in the middle of it. It was the same one the little girl had been wearing.
Unfortunately, she suspected it might be too similar to the girl's outfit... She was terrible at judging kids' ages, didn't know enough to be able to judge how old they ought to be to be potty trained, though she would have guessed, if anyone had asked for some reason, that the girl she'd seen must be. Honestly, she hadn't even considered it. It was possible, of course, that she was mostly trained, but she needed some help tonight because of all the excitement of Halloween, or being up so late, or being out, not knowing when they'd find a bathroom they could use, or...
Who knew? Zoe had no idea what she was talking about... She hoped that she was wrong, anyway, that she wasn't wearing what she thought she was, no matter how wide it was forcing her thighs apart, or how much it crinkled when she squirmed. It had, after all, been nearly two decades since she'd worn them! The only way she could tell for sure was by lifting her skirt with her free hand, the other suddenly holding a candy pail, in disbelief, looking down at herself...
And seeing that, yes, indeed, she was wearing a diaper. She hadn't expected the wish to happen at all, really, certainly hadn't expected it to make her this similar to the girl... That had been what she'd asked for, though, wasn't it? To be able to trick or treat just like her...
The door opened suddenly, snapping Zoe back to reality, if that was was what she was experiencing, back to the fact that she had wanted to trick or treat, that she was standing on a porch, an orange plastic candy pail in the shape of a pumpkin, like the one the girl's mother had been holding, in one hand. Obviously that door was bound to open eventually...
She squeaked, tugging her skirt down, heart pounding even before she saw who was standing on the other side of the door. She fidgeted, growing even more restless as she felt a strange warmth trickling into the padding of her diaper, as she realized, to her horror, that she'd wet herself at the sight of Ms. Perez.
Ms. Perez was the professor in charge of the one physical education class that her college required, the class that Zoe hated the most, and had already skipped more times than any other class this semester. Now she was standing in front of the teacher, dressed up like a little girl, a soggy diaper under her princess dress, not knowing whether the woman had seen it or not. Even if she'd missed it, Zoe could see the woman's smart doorbell all lit up, showing that it had detected her, that, no doubt, it had been recording her...
"Sorry it took so long!" Ms. Perez exclaimed. "We've had so many little visitors tonight, I had to dig out my back-up..." She glanced up finally, chuckling. "Oh, hello there."
Zoe nibbled her bottom lip anxiously. Of all the professors for her to run into... "H-Hi," she answered. "S-Sorry, I was just..."
"I know what you were doing," Ms. Perez interrupted, Zoe bracing herself, positive she was about to get a lecture about how she was too old, how Ms. Perez was disappointed that Zoe could find time to do this, but not make it to class. "And you look adorable!" she continued with a giggle, taking Zoe completely by surprise. "Your fashion sense is always so cute..."
"I-It is?" Zoe frowned. It wasn't how she would describe it, though, really, she wouldn't have thought Ms. Perez paid enough attention to what she wore to know.
"Of course!" Ms. Perez smiled. "But, no matter how adorable you are, you have to ask."
"Huh?" Zoe blinked, the professor lifting the bag of candy she was holding, giving it a shake. Was that it? Was it that easy? "Trick or treat?" she tried uncertainly.
"There you go!" Ms. Perez beamed, holding the bag out. "Take a piece! Or... take two. Where's all your candy?" Zoe looked down at her empty bucket. "You haven't eaten it all already, have you?" Zoe blushed, picturing the woman threatening to make her work out extra hard next time she showed up to make up for that. "I'm teasing... It's Halloween! Have fun!"
And... That was that. There had been no hesitation, no grumbling, no anything. She'd just been able to trick or treat, like old times... It had been embarrassing, definitely... But she'd survived, and she'd gotten her wish, even if it wasn't quite how she might have hoped, if it was a little too literal. If she could do that with somebody she knew, who was aware that she was much too old for it, surely it would work with strangers, too, right?
She was so eager to find out, she almost forgot about the dampness in her diaper as she waddled her way to the next house. It had happened so quickly, so soon after she'd wound up in them, that it almost became second nature... Until, after a little while, it seemed like it had warmed up again, like, perhaps, it had spread... But how could that have happened? Unless...
Face red, she wiggled her bottom in her diaper. She'd assumed, at Ms. Perez's house, that it had happened because she was surprised, and scared of what she would say. She didn't usually - or ever, really - pee her pants from fright, or nerves, though she also didn't ever show up on her professors' doorsteps in a diaper. Now, however, she had to wonder if that part of her outfit might be more practical than she'd thought, if maybe she'd been wrong about Ronni needing her diaper only because it was Halloween.
Regardless, a check of her skirt seemed to confirm that it was keeping her diaper hidden, so, humiliating as the idea of having a genuine accident, of wetting her diaper like an infant, with no control whatsoever, was, she pressed on, toddling up to each and every house and ringing their doorbells, more than making up for all that lost time.
Finally, she could tell it was getting too late, the porch lights starting to go dark, jack o'lanterns blown out. She did try a few anyway, knocking, waiting for someone to answer, usually half out of their costume, make-up partially removed, looking annoyed until she batted her eyes and asked sweetly, "Trick or treat?"
Zoe was a pretty girl, and that did work to her advantage from time to time... It was nothing compared to this power, however, to the way people would melt and giggle, seeing her. It reminded her of when she was tiny, when everyone loved to tell her how adorable she was... She'd hated it then, wanting to be a glamorous, beautiful grown-up so bad, but now that she'd experience both, she preferred this, at least for Halloween. She didn't have to worry about drunk frat bros groping her, or keeping track of her drink so that nobody slipped anything into it... All she had to do was say three simple words, and she was more than happy to do that.
She did eventually decide to call it a night, head back to her dorm. This had been a blast... But it was time to go to bed, then go back to being a big girl in the morning.
Or so she thought. She'd tossed her PJs aside that morning when she got dressed, and she saw them waiting for her there, in the same position, except they were now completely different, her oversized t-shirt and old gym shorts replaced with a bright pink two-piece set, the pants covered in white polka dots, Minnie Mouse smiling from the front of the shirt. It looked exactly like something a toddler would wear, certainly not a college student.
Brow furrowed, she went over to her dresser, to the bottom drawer where she kept her spare pajamas, pulling it open, stomach churning as she saw that they were gone, too, more Disney character sets in their place. For a moment, she thought Reilly was pulling a prank on her, until she remembered her wish.
How much had it changed?! All she'd wanted was to be able to trick or treat, just like Ronni... Though, she supposed, one way to do that was, indeed, to make it so that she dressed, and acted, like a little girl all the time, so that, naturally, everyone would expect it from her...
She whimpered, opening up her other drawers, finding none of her old wardrobe. This was, she assumed, a duplicate of Ronni's instead, everything covered in frills and ribbons and lace, so girly and childish... Even though she wanted to make sure she got changed, and disposed of the evidence, before Reilly returned, she stopped short at the top drawer, the one where all her underwear ought to be. She was afraid of what she was going to find there, of what it could mean...
"Good, you're back," Reilly said, making Zoe flinch, turning her head, seeing that she was too late. "That party was lame... I should have just gone with you."
Reilly walked over to her and, without hesitation, grabbed her skirt, lifted it up, revealing her diaper, treating it like it was totally normal. "Oh, I really should have gone with you," she chuckled. "You're practically leaking! Come on, let's get you changed and into your PJs for beddy-bye, okay?"
"B-But..." Zoe started to protest, her words stopping suddenly as Reilly pulled open that top drawer, the one she'd been so scared of. There were no panties in there, not even some childish, cartoon-printed ones; there weren't even any Pull-Ups. It was just stack after stack of diapers, all lined up and ready for her.
"Hey, there's no need to be upset," Reilly cooed at her, spreading a changing pad out on Zoe's bed. "You know I don't mind helping you out... Or did something happen while you were out?"
Something had, of course; the wish that had put all of this into motion. But how was she going to tell Reilly about that, not sound completely insane... Or like even more of a child than she felt like, letting her roommate change her diaper while she was still in her childish Snow White costume?
Reilly seemed to be an expert at this, wiping Zoe dry, taping her into a fresh diaper in a jiffy before helping her into the Minnie Mouse pajamas. Zoe pouted, staring at herself in the mirror, her sexy figure doing very little to keep her from looking like a toddler right now, diaper bulging obviously beneath the PJ shorts. "Look on the bright side!" Reilly smiled, giving Zoe's bottom a pat. "At least you didn't go poopy while you were out there!
"I-I don't do that!" Zoe squealed in shock and disgust.
"If you say so," Reilly winked. "I mean, since it hasn't happened yet today, I suspect we'll see first thing in the morning."
Surely she was wrong... Surely this wish would wear off by then... That's what Zoe told herself as she squirmed in bed, her diaper slowly growing soggy between her legs, until, at last, she drifted off, praying she would wake up to her old wardrobe, her old life...
Instead, she woke to an icky smell, to the sensation of sticky mush all around her bottom, no matter which way she squirmed, trying to get away from it, both things that she had a bad feeling she was going to be getting very, very familiar with from now on...
