The Stepdaughter: Spring Break - Chapter 3
🕑 Added 2023-02-14 13:00:03 +0000 UTCIt's been a while, but here's a continuation of this story, commissioned by TFMonkey.
"No, I don't need any of that!" Janet fumed, stomping her foot, the light on her sneakers blinking, making her even more annoyed at how childish it was. Not that anyone would mistake her for anything other than a child at this point...
There she was, dressed up in her snap-crotch shortalls, a onesie snugly snapped together beneath it, cradling her bulky diaper, which made far too much of a bulge for anyone to believe it was anything else. She had ribbons in her hair and frilly ankle socks on her feet, and, to top it all off, those stupid shoes, with their Velcro and their blinking lights.
And that was, somehow, not even the worst of it, not even the thing she was protesting. She hadn't been happy about it when her maid, Lexi, had put her in it, by any means, though, compared to some of the other outfits the woman had chosen for her, it was almost grown-up. In fact, that was what Janet was so upset about now, another one of those outfits that Lexi was packing into her diaper bag.
That one had a fresh onesie, one far less plain than what she had on now, clearly meant to be worn on its own, rather than as a part of an outfit. Janet, in fact, had plenty of experience with that onesie... Zella had bought it for her, and made her wear it several times, and it had become one of Lexi's favorites, too, after she'd found it. It was white, dotted with pink hearts, with short, pink, frilly sleeves, several rows of white lace across the backside, and a large, pink ribbon tied into a bow above them. To go with that, Lexi had packed her a matching bonnet and pair of booties she'd somehow found made from the same heart-dotted fabric, and a pair of fingerless mittens, the kind she had to wear when she was being particularly naughty.
It was saying a lot that the idea of having that in her bag, a looming threat, was still not the worst part of what was going on, nor was the 'breakfast' she'd been given that morning, when Lexi had forced her to breastfeed. That came as the doorbell rang, and Lexi glanced up from her work. "Go answer that for me," she ordered, as if she were the boss here, as if Janet didn't pay her to clean her house, sending the smaller woman to the door with a crinkly pat on the bottom.
"Take that out!" Janet demanded, turning around and stomping her foot one more time. "I don't need another outfit, and definitely not that one!"
She knew right away she'd made a mistake, Lexi's eyes narrowing as she stood up, straightening up to her full height, towering over Janet, who felt her diaper growing warm. Pitifully, Janet didn't even wait for an ultimatum, or a threat. "S-Sorry!" she squeaked, and immediately turned and scurried for the door, as she'd been told.
She wasn't sure if she should feel grateful or not that the person at the door was exactly who she expected. It was good, she supposed, for it not to be a neighbor, although certainly by now most of them had to have seen her this one, caught glimpses of her being taken out for walks, or put in the car. As much as she'd like to believe otherwise, it had happened so often by now, it was hard to convince herself they had never spotted her.
It was less good that it was Bernice, her former co-worker, with daughter, Melba in tow. "Don't you look sweet?" Bernice gushed, leaning over to smile at Janet. "Of course, you always do now, don't you?"
"Are you ready to go to daycare finally?" Melba asked excitedly, bouncing in place.
Janet looked up at Bernice, trying to beg her silently to not do this, to change her mind. Instead, Bernice's grin widened. "You're going to have so much fun, Janet!" she promised, pinching her cheek.
"Yes, she will," Lexi declared, sliding in behind Janet and handing the diaper bag over to Bernice. "Could you let the workers know she's already soggy? She just did it, right when I was about to get her out the door, so I didn't have time to change her."
Janet blushed, staring down at her feet, not surprised Lexi had known what she was doing, but also not pleased at the confirmation. "Janet!" Bernice scolded playfully. "Already? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, though, huh? You just can't keep your pants dry, can you?"
"Yes, I can!" Janet whined, the words ringing hollow when her padding was still warm between her thighs.
"Whatever you say," Bernice patted her on the head condescendingly before taking her by the hand. "I'll see you in the afternoon when I drop her off," she told Lexi. "Say bye-bye!"
"Bye-bye," Janet grumbled, waving to her maid obediently. She was led out to Bernice car, strapped into Melba's old car seat, squirming there anxiously as it fully hit her what was happening, at last. She'd managed to avoid it so far, despite the threats, but there was no getting out of it now... She was on her way to daycare, like any other toddler.
If the workers there knew the truth, if they saw her as anything other than that, they gave no indication of it as she toddled in the front door, holding Melba's hand, Bernice shepherding them in from behind.
"Aww, this must be Janet!" one of the workers exclaimed. "I'm so happy to finally meet you, cutie! My name is Ms. Starla! Did you just wake up?"
"H-Huh?" Janet blinked, the question taking her by surprise. "N-No?"
"Oh," Starla replied, taken aback for a moment.
"She's wet, too," Bernice announced. "Sorry, there wasn't time to change her."
"Uh-oh!" Starla teased. "Did you have an accident, sweetie? That's okay! It happens to everyone! You are at least trying to get to the potty, though, aren't you?"
Janet glanced over at Bernice, not sure what she should say, especially in front of her, knowing it would get back to Lexi eventually. Lexi always kept her in diapers, but she hadn't specifically forbidden her from using the bathroom... And, if she had her way, she'd definitely prefer to do that, obviously.
"Oh, that's right!" Bernice shook her head. "I can't believe I forgot about that, but it's been so long since I had to worry about it with Melba! Yes, she is trying, she just isn't quite good enough to trust Pull-Ups yet."
"Ahh, I see," Starla smiled. "Well, that's fine! Everyone has to start somewhere! As long as you're trying, you can stay with the toddlers."
Janet gulped; Starla clearly didn't mean the words as a threat, but that was how they sounded to her. What was the alternative? If she didn't stay with the toddlers... Where would she go?
The answer came swiftly, as she was led to the playroom after a quick diaper change, past another room filled with smaller babies, sitting there in their diapers and onesies, playing with soft, crinkly toys, drooling... She shuddered, positive that was where she would end up if she was deemed not mature enough for the toddlers... It was unfortunate, then, that the very thought of it was enough to send a fresh dribble of wetness into her fresh, dry diaper. She hadn't even been in it five minutes - barely two! - and already, she was making it harder to believe she didn't need it.
Convincing anyone of that was made all the more challenging by the fact that she was in a diaper. Normally, she only had to control herself in the evenings, when Harrison was around, and she was wearing panties. That was tough, not to mention risky, considering how little protection she had if she slipped up. Now, she was in a diaper, in the thing that, usually, she didn't have any option other than to use, whether she was at school, or under the care of Lexi, or Bernice, or Hazel, none of whom were going to allow her to use the toilet even if she asked.
So it was only natural that her body would react instinctively when she was wearing her diapers, would think nothing of dribbling a bit while she followed Melba around the room, playing with dollhouses, helping some little boys build a castle with blocks... Most of the time, she didn't even notice it until she got up to head to the next activity, and felt her diaper sagging a little heavier against the embrace of her onesie and shortalls.
She was too embarrassed to say anything about it, too, so by the time Starla checked her, she was absolutely soaked. "Janet!" the worker scolded. "You didn't ask me to take you to the potty even once! What have you been drinking? How many times did you go?"
"O-Once?" Janet tried, but from the skepticism in Starla's eyes, she could tell the girl wasn't buying that Janet had drank enough to drench her bulky diaper that much in a single pee. And she was horrified to answer the first question, to admit what she had drank that morning, cradled close to her maid's chest...
"Do you mean you felt it once?" Starla asked, Janet bashfully nodding, happy to let the girl believe that, rather than that she'd been lying. "How long has your Mommy been trying to potty train you?"
Janet shrugged, her heart starting to pound in her chest. What was the right answer? Too high, and it would make her look hopeless to still be having so much trouble; too low, and it might be decided she should wait a few more months before trying again.
"Did you only try so you could stay with your friend?" Starla continued softly. "Melba is very nice, isn't she? But everyone in the baby room is, too, and you can still see Melba when we go out to the playground."
"No, I'm not a baby!" Janet protested, seeing that was there this was going. That would be especially degrading now, being placed at a lower status than Melba... She couldn't let that happen... She just felt so tiny, so helpless, so much like she did with Lexi...
It was hardly a surprise, then, how she reacted when Starla asked her, a bit later, if she was ready for a snack. Seeing her again after that unspoken threat, her diaper damp once more despite her best efforts, she was in an even more vulnerable mood. She couldn't find the strength to fight instinct told her was coming and reluctantly bobbed her head, one hand reaching out for Starla's shirt...
They both seemed to recognize the mistake at the same time, as Starla grabbed Janet's hand, stopping her from lifting the shirt, Janet's cheeks burning, realizing that she, of course, wasn't at home, wasn't with Lexi, who had taken such pleasure in breastfeeding Janet at the picnic that she'd done it again when they got home, before putting it to bed, and again this morning, for breakfast... She was mortified to discover how engrained the act had become in her mind already...
"No, sweetie, not that," Starla said gently. "Although, I have a feeling I know what was in that special bottle your Mommy sent with you now."
She winked, Janet's stomach turning, both at the knowledge that there was a bottle, and that she had, indeed, revealed what it was to Starla. And sure enough, when Starla gave her the bottle, watching her like a hawk, giving her no choice other than to lift it up to her mouth and begin to suck, there was no question of what kind of milk it was.
She was waiting for Starla to leave her alone, to give her a chance to try to dispose of some of the milk, drinking it as slowly as possible, when another worker came over to Starla, striking up a conversation that Janet knew was about her from the way they kept glancing over at her, no doubt discussing the number of her accidents, her 'choice' of snack...
"Janet," Starla told her after the woman had been forced to drain the bottle completely, taking it from her and setting it aside for a moment. "I really need you to try to show me you're ready to be in the toddler room, okay? There's nothing wrong with going to the baby room, and..."
"I'm ready!" Janet insisted. "I'll show you! I promise!"
She was absolutely determined to prove it, no matter what... And then, Starla announced it was time to go play on the playground, and Melba, intentionally or not, took Janet to the far end, much further from where most of the workers gathered than she could ever get in the toddler room, to play in the sandbox.
Janet was doing her very best to concentrate on her bladder, to pay attention to it... Perhaps too hard, as doing so may have kept her from recognizing another pressure building up until it was too late. She gasped, feeling her tummy grumble, and scrambled to her feet, not saying a word to Melba, scrambling across the sandbox, hopping out, toddling for dear life across the playground...
Unfortunately, it had rained the night before, and, while the sandbox had been covered, the ground around it hadn't, and, as she heard a voice shouting, "No running!" she felt her sneakers slip in the mud, and suddenly she was falling...
Mud splashed all over her outfit, though she hardly noticed as something else happened, as something even thicker began to push its way out, into the seat of her diaper. By the time Starla got to her to check on her, she was bawling, lying there in her dirty diaper, allowing herself to be picked up, carried inside...
"You're all right," Starla promised her, after getting her all cleaned up, stripping her out of her muddy clothes, changing her into a clean diaper. "I don't see any scrapes or anything! But that was quite an accident, wasn't it? Were you trying to get over to me so I could take you to the potty?"
"U-Uh-huh," Janet nodded, praying that would earn her some points, glancing over at the other worker, who had come in to watch partway through.
"That's good," Starla smiled. "Maybe you have what it takes to..."
The other worker stepped up, whispered something in Starla's ear. Only then did Janet see her diaper bag in the other girl's hand, as she opened it up, showed Starla what was inside. "Oh, my," Starla giggled. "I think somebody has been fibbing to me... Your Mommy didn't want you with the toddlers at all, did she? I can see why you've been having so much trouble..."
"N-No!" Janet whined, kicking her feet futilely. "I-I am a toddler!" It was mortifying, yelling that out, admitting to it, but it was so much better than the alternative...
But that wasn't how she looked when they were done with her, when they had her in the spare outfit Lexi had packed. Between the onesie, the bonnet, the booties, the mittens seemingly made for a little girl who couldn't stop chewing on her fingers, she fit right into the baby room, as much as she hated to admit it.
She whimpered, pawing at a cloth block with her mittens, glancing over at the clock, wincing to see how much longer she had, that she'd be stuck here before she was picked up. It had only taken her a couple hours to be demoted well below Melba, to be declared a baby rather than a toddler... And she had a feeling, after the way the day had gone, she wasn't going to be working her way back up anytime soon.

Think this remains one of your best works. Hope to see more of the humiliation that's in store for baby Janet
Worth the wait, thank you.
