Compromise - Chapter 30
🕑 Added 2023-01-28 13:00:01 +0000 UTCThis couldn't be happening... Liz struggled to stay in character, to not blow her cover, while, at the same time, her heart was racing in her chest the longer she stood there, wiggling anxiously in her Pull-Ups, knowing her saliva was soaking into the candy, that whatever was inside it was getting free, being absorbed into her system...
Even in an ideal situation, she wasn't certain she'd be able to come up with a clever way to ask where Cassie had gotten the candy without making it seem suspicious, and this was far from ideal, so perhaps it was a good thing she didn't have the option, that the pacifier was locked into place and keeping her from saying anything at all... Except, of course, for the fact that it was also the very thing guaranteeing that, whatever kind of candy it was, she was going to ingest it.
"What a happy little girl," Cassie smiled, patting Lizzie on the head, misinterpreting her squirming. "I'm almost jealous of how excited you can get over just a piece of candy..."
As frenzied as she was, as much as she could feel the panic rising within her, Liz had to admit that it wasn't really Cassie's fault, probably... Even if this was the candy from the couch, she must have found it, deduced it had been Liz's in the first place, and that, therefore, it was something she liked... She was trying to be nice. What were the chances she recognized the wrapper of the candy, and knew its true purpose?
Or it was possible that it was her own candy, that she kept a stash of it in her desk, and had brought some into Heather's while she looked after Liz for a treat. Liz hadn't gotten a great look at the wrapper, either when Cassie had opened it, or when the receptionist had given it to her, so she didn't know for sure they matched, that they were the same.
And, of course, there was always the chance it was both, in a way, that Cassie did keep candy for any visiting littles that happened to be the same as the receptionist's, and, whether she'd given Liz a piece of that, or had simply seen an identical piece between the couch cushions, she knew exactly what she was doing.
It wouldn't be out of character for most 'tweeners Liz had met, although she hated to stereotype in that way. As a secretary, even if she didn't work directly for the caretaker of the little she gave it to, the diaper change could end up being pawned off on her... And if they weren't in diapers already, the kind of accident the candy was meant to spur would almost definitely land them there, which Cassie would probably love to help with.
She didn't want to think of Cassie in that way, however; she was, after all, in the girl's care at the moment, subject to all of her whims. She'd like to think Heather wouldn't employee that sort of person, either, that she wouldn't have agreed to leave Lizzie with her if she knew of those proclivities, but that was assuming Heather knew. If Cassie did do that kind of thing, she likely was skilled at hiding it, at being stealthy so that she could pretend the resulting accidents were all the fault of the little she'd chosen as a victim.
Lizzie whimpered into her paci, finding herself sucking harder instinctively before she tasted the candy and realized what she was doing, that she was ingesting whatever was in there faster, conflicted. If this was the receptionist's candy, and she had to work under the assumption that it was, to prepare for the worst, what should she do?
She had no clue how quickly the drugs would work, if she had a prayer of holding it until Heather returned. If not, she had to rely on Cassie to take her to the bathroom... Whether the secretary had given her the candy with that end goal in mind or not, the eagerness with which she'd proposed putting Lizzie into diapers earlier made Liz confident she wasn't going to be in any rush to do anything that might prevent her from getting to do that in the future.
In that case... Would it be better to give the woman what she wanted? Liz did need to pee, a bit... If she let it go, wet herself just enough for the designs on her Pull-Up to fade, it would prompt Cassie to put her in a diaper. And then... She shuddered, wrinkling her nose at the mere concept. Still, if she was going to do that, it would be smarter to let it happen in a diaper than a Pull-Up. They were bigger, more designed to handle that.
She let out a muffled groan, wanting very badly to stomp her feet in resentment for this whole situation, but knowing that she couldn't do so without raising some questions from Cassie about why. This wasn't fair! She was supposed to be here doing a job, not debating if she should mess in training panties or a diaper! Everything felt like it was falling apart, and she hadn't even gotten into her target's office yet!
"Hey," Cassie frowned, leaning forward to rub Liz's back, apparently sensing her displeasure despite the girl's best efforts to hide them. "What's wrong, sweetie?"
There were so, so many answers to that at the moment, it was probably a good thing she couldn't say any of them, or she wasn't sure which would have popped out, or how appropriate they would have been, though she did point to her pacifier to signal why she was staying silent.
"What?" Cassie asked. "I know that's your paci, silly... I saw you using it when your Mommy brought you in. And I'm sure she'd rather have you do that than chew on your tongue, or your lip."
Lizzie shook her head, blushing as she felt tears of frustration welling up in the corners of her eyes, just making her feel worse. She didn't have time to cry now! That was only going to make her look, and feel, more like a baby!
"Hey," Cassie furrowed her brow. "What is it, Lizzie? You don't have to be sad!"
Finally, she gave the pacifier another twist, making the nipple deflate with a hiss, allowing her to slide it free. The relied was short-lived, however, since it meant she'd have to use her words again, and she still hadn't settled on a strategy for doing so.
"You can tell me," Cassie urged. "What has you upset, little one?"
Lizzie wasn't positive where the inspiration came from, what prompted her to do it. All she knew was that she was giving into the tears, letting them flow a bit faster as she wailed, "Mommy said I wasn't s'posed to have any more sweets until after supper!"
Cassie's expression of concern softened into a laugh. "Oh, honey, is that all?"
Liz did let herself stomp now, feeling it made sense, although it wound up being, perhaps, a little louder than she'd intended, thanks to all the emotions that had been bubbling inside her. "She said!" she whined.
"Hey," Cassie stroked her, hands running down her arms, ending around Liz's wrists, where her touch turned slightly harsher, closing around them with just a hint of a squeeze. "There's no need for that. I promise, I won't tell her, okay? I don't think she'd really mind that much, but..."
"She said!" Lizzie repeated, pushing her lips out into a giant pout, making her eyes as huge as she could as she stared up at the secretary pitifully.
"Okay, okay," Cassie chuckled. "I guess I can't get mad at you for wanting to do what your Mommy told you to. That's what good little girls do, isn't it?" Liz nodded, watching gratefully as Cassie got up and grabbed the trash can, holding it out in front of her. "Spit it out," she instructed, and Liz was more than happy to comply, several times, attempting to clear out as much of her tainted saliva as possible. "Such a good girl," Cassie teased, booping Liz on the nose.
"I-I try," Liz blinked innocently. Had she done it? Was she safe? She'd definitely ingested some of the candy... Would it be enough?
Perhaps more importantly, did Cassie helping her mean she'd been wrong to suspect her? She hadn't exactly leapt into action, but if she hadn't known the true nature of the candy, she'd have no reason to be all that worried. Or... Did she know that the candy had already worked its magic, and there was no point in letting Liz continue to suck on it?
"Aww," Cassie cooed. "I bet you do a great job at it, too! You shouldn't be discouraged if you mess up every now and then... Nobody can be perfect! And this time wasn't your fault, all right? You don't have to be upset... You didn't do anything."
"O-Okay," Liz replied. "If you say so..."
"I do," Cassie smiled. "Those things don't have that much sugar anyway. I bet she meant more like chocolate, or cookies, or something like that. I bet you like those, don't you?"
Liz blushed, bobbed her head bashfully. Cassie gave her tummy a tickle, and it wasn't hard at all to start to giggle, even as a part of her wondered if her next decision was about to be made for her, if Cassie wasn't going to let up this time, and she was going to end up having an accident, earning her way back to diapers.
Luckily, Cassie stopped short again, after asking, "Did you have a bunch this morning?" and getting a squealed, "Yes!" in response. "That's cute," Cassie observed. "Heather was trying to help you feel better by letting you have sweets... And then it worked too well, didn't it? I bet you got all hyper and were distracting your Mommy while she was working, and that's why she had you color me my picture. She should have just let you come out to play with me! Wouldn't that have been fun?"
She was hardly going to say no to the last part and seem rude, but agreeing to that made it appear as if the whole scenario Cassie had concocted was true.
"Maybe this afternoon," Cassie told her, probably not meaning it as a threat, though that was how it felt. "It looks like those treats did the trick!"
That was right... Liz was supposed to be sick. On top of everything else, that had slipped her mind. She really had to hope Heather got back in time for them to visit their target, or they'd have to wait longer, and it would be difficult to justify why she wasn't playing with Cassie, or going down to daycare, instead of bothering Heather at work.
"Not really," she said. "Well, just a little."
"Just a little, huh?" Cassie smirked. "What, are you scared of me? I'll play nice!" As if to disprove her own statement, she began to tickle Liz again, this time showing no mercy, poking harder, wiggling faster, turning Lizzie into a squirming ball of giggles until, inevitably, the dam broke, and, sure enough, her Pull-Ups began to warm and swell as they soaked up her accident.
"Lizzie!" Cassie scolded. "What did you do?"
Liz whined, pouted. "Y-You..." she accused.
"I didn't pee in your Pull-Up," Cassie informed her, not even seeming to try to hide her grin. "I guess it's time to get you into these adorable kitten diapers."
"No!" Liz squeaked. She still couldn't tell, one way or the other, what had happened with the candy, if it had been the receptionist's, if she'd gotten rid of it in time... She thought she might feel a pressure in her belly, but it was pretty faint, and could easily have been her imagination. And with her paci out, there was the potential, however small, of convincing Cassie to take her to the toilet for that, anyway. "Those are for night-night!"
"And for Auntie Cassie," Cassie countered, picking the diaper up once more and starting to unfold it, spreading it out on the coffee table. "You have to let me see how you look in these!"
"I-I barely went!" Liz complained, poking at her trainers, which were, conversely, actually a bit squishier than she'd expected. "I don't need to be in diapers because of this!"
"Maybe not," Cassie admitted. "You need to be in diapers because they're going to make you even cuter!" She grabbed Liz's hand, pulling her in, closer to the table, to the diaper, to her fate...
"What is going on here?" Heather demanded, causing both of the smaller women to jump, turning to face her, standing in the doorway.
"N-Nothing!" Cassie answered first, a sure sign of guilt. "W-We were just... I was giving her a change, that's all!"
Heather took a step into the room, peering down at the blushing Cassie, at the waiting diaper. "On my coffee table? Without even a changing pad?"
"O-Oh, I didn't... I-I didn't see that in there," Cassie squirmed, glancing over at the diaper bag. "She didn't tell me there was one!" she added accusingly, desperately trying to shake off the blame.
"And you didn't think to look?" Heather arched an eyebrow. "That's one of the basics of diaper changes. I'd expect any teenaged babysitter to know that, much less an adult like you."
Lizzie almost felt bad for Cassie as she wilted under Heather's reprimands, any hint of scariness, of intimidation, melting away. "Y-You're right," she mumbled. "I-I can get it now, o-or take her to the bathroom for you and do it there, or..."
"I think I'd feel better if I handled it myself, thank you very much," Heather replied coldly.
"N-No, I can!" Cassie insisted, sounding more and more like a little girl struggling to prove herself to an older, cooler sibling, to show that she was capable of keeping up with her and her friends.
Heather lightened up slightly, putting a hand on Cassie's shoulder softly. "Maybe another time, okay?"
Cassie pouted, looking ashamed, perhaps at going too far, or, perhaps, just at getting caught. "Okay," she sighed. "Sorry... I-I could stick around and help..."
"I have it under control," Heather said. "I'd rather take her to the bathroom, where they have a changing table, anyway."
"R-Right," Cassie nodded. "Good idea."
She slunk out of the room, closing the door behind her to allow Heather to kneel down in front of Liz. "Are you all right?" she asked quietly.
"Uh-huh." Liz wasn't sure if she should say anything about the candy or not, though she didn't really want to get Cassie in any more trouble. She followed Heather's gaze down to her Pull-Ups, her cheeks warming. "That was just some tickling."
"I see," Cassie chuckled, before lowering her voice even more. "Do you want a change? We can do that, if you want, but the meeting went longer than I expected, so if we want to..."
"No," Liz shook her head. "Let's go."
That made her mind up for her. Cassie had inadvertently given them the perfect excuse to step out of the office again, with the secretary not even needing to know, necessarily, that they had gone to visit their target, which was probably for the best... If they stopped by the bathroom to get her a fresh Pull-Up, or, especially, to try to use the toilet just in case that was the wrong kind of candy, and she'd swallowed enough of its juices, they might miss their window. Staying damp a little longer wasn't going to kill her.
It did make her feel very small as Heather snapped her onesie back up and got her into her shortalls once more, even as she began to get nervous, to feel her palms start to sweat. This was it, the big moment... If she messed this up, not only would it all have been for nothing, but she could ruin her life, and Heather's career... It was a lot to rest on the shoulders of a little girl toddling around in a soggy Pull-Up.
She grabbed her teddy bear, and Heather grabbed her, and her diaper bag, carrying her out, past the still blushing Cassie, who became instantly more interested in her computer monitor, typing loudly away at the keyboard, pointedly not looking at them. Heather carried her over to the target's office, past the empty secretary's desk outside, pausing there to give Lizzie an encouraging squeeze before slipping the pacifier into Liz's mouth and knocking.
"Are you back already, Brenda?" his voice called from inside.
"Not quite," Heather answered. "Sorry to bother you, but I had a question about the Noble account."
"Come on in," he mumbled after a few seconds. Lizzie and Heather exchanged a look, and Heather finally opened the door, pushing it open.
"Sorry, Luther," Heather apologized again. "I just thought it would be quicker to discuss it in person."
"Who is this?" Luther raised an eyebrow, staring right at Lizzie, who had to struggle not to react, not to show how much she was sure she could feel him glaring through her, studying every molecule of her being. Did he know her, somehow?! Had he caught a glimpse of her the last time she was here? Had somebody warned him about her?
"This is my little," Heather bounced her. "Sorry for that, too... Her sitter was running late, and she didn't feel well this morning, so I didn't want to put her in daycare, and... You get it."
Thankfully, he nodded, said, "I do. She reminds me of mine. I know how clingy they can get when they're sick."
Liz let out a sigh of relief into her paci, feeling a bit of the tension draining from Heather's body as she clung to it. This was going well, so far... They might just pull this off...
"I'm afraid I'm going to have to insist you put her into a proper diaper if she's going to stay in here, though," Luther continued. "I've had to replace too many rugs thanks to my own little one, so that's my rule for any littles who come visit me now, especially here at the office."
Liz's face started to warm, and she snuggled deeper into Heather's side. They shouldn't fight it, probably, should do whatever it took to make him accept Lizzie as an innocent little... She couldn't exactly pretend she was excited at the prospect of getting diapered right in front of her target, however, much less trying to do her job fully padded.
"You don't have to worry about that from her," Heather took the cue like a pro. "I know it's hard to believe, but she barely even needs these Pull-Ups, really. You know... Not yet." She winked playfully.
Luther didn't take the bait. "I don't care how mature you think she is, or how fussy she gets about it... It's either diapers or down to daycare with her."
Lizzie swallowed, knowing that her luck had run out. She wasn't going to get out of it this time... It almost would have been better to let Cassie do it, to get it over with, and make her happy. Heather peered down at her, and, reluctantly Liz gave her the tiniest nod she could, not sure if Heather could see it or not, but not wanting any chance of Luther spotting it, wondering why Heather would need permission from her baby.
"You have a point," Heather shrugged, kneeling down, setting Lizzie on the floor and grabbing out the changing pad. "I think she's feeling better now, but why take the risk?"
"Exactly," Luther smirked. "Trust me, after she leaks once when she's visiting you in your office, you'll have the same rule."
"You're probably right," Heather told him, unsnapping the crotch of Lizzie's shortalls, and then her onesie, giving her an apologetic look, the best she could do in front of their target.
"See?" Luther sniffed, as soon as Liz's Pull-Up was visible. "She's wet anyway... She'd be leaving puddles everywhere in no time!"
"Lizzie!" Heather scolded, pulling out a diaper and unfolding it onto the changing pad. "You told me you didn't have to go!"
"I didn't!" Liz played along, squeezing her teddy bear, mumbling softly behind her paci.
"Is that because you already did?" Luther interrupted with a sneer. "Give it some time, Heather... You'll learn how the little brats think. They're cute, but you can't trust them, especially not when it comes to that..."
Liz fought not to react too much as Heather ripped open her trainers, leaving her exposed and half naked in the middle of Luther's office, as Heather wiped her clean before laying her down on the waiting diaper. As Heather got out the baby powder from the bag, however, Lizzie felt the first cramp.
She gasped, toes curling in her sneakers, shocked at how strong it was, coming out of nowhere as it had, signalling that, whether it had been on purpose or not, that had definitely been the receptionist's candy she'd eaten... And now, as Heather diapered her, it was far, far too late for her to do anything about it, other than pray that she could somehow hold it until the job was done.
