Taking What Isn't Hers - Chapter 4
🕑 Added 2023-04-24 12:00:02 +0000 UTC"Isn't she sweet?" the greeter smiled down at Shania, making the girl squirm, feeling so very tiny. She wondered if she should sit down, since that might be the only way she had to effectively hide her diaper from everyone she could hear filing in and out of the store's entrance behind her, but even if she did, she was just going to have to get up in a few seconds anyway. "Do you want a cart for her to ride in?"
Embarrassing as it would be to get pushed around the store in the front of a shopping cart, it would likely be better than the alternative, and it would make Lindsay do the work of moving her around. That might not necessarily be a good thing, since she could take Shania wherever she wanted, and there was nothing the smaller woman could do about it; then again, that was basically happening already, and Shania having to follow of her own volition, and under her own power, was not exactly a joy.
"Oh, no, thank you," Lindsay chuckled. "It would be nice to get her up off the floor, but she needs to get some energy out! I'll just give her a bath when we get home, before I put her down to bed."
Shania knew she could mean later on, though it was hard to miss the implication that it was happening immediately after this, so early in the day. She blushed, happy to keep moving, to crawl after Lindsay if it got her away from the greeter who she was certain was thinking the same thing, who probably assumed Shania's bedtime was already looming.
Heading to the baby aisle did not help matters. She would have stood out no matter where she went, but it seemed, to her, like going there made it obvious why they were there, the flash of padding beneath her skirt only confirming it to anyone who might be skeptical. Technically, they would be wrong, since they weren't getting more diapers... The truth was hardly an improvement, however. And the people who were going that direction, too, or coming back from it, were exactly the kind of people who would know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, what she had on under her outfit.
"Here we are!" Lindsay declared. "Oh, so cute! Which designs do you like best, Shania?"
"None of them," Shania grumbled, wrinkling her nose, staring up at the packages of pink and purple trainers, decorated with cartoon characters. They all looked like something a four year old would be too dignified to wear... Because they were. It felt like a kick to the stomach, realizing this was what she was going to have for underwear from now on, if she was lucky. If not... She wiggled her bottom, getting a reminder that it could definitely be worse.
Lindsay took her by surprise by replying, "Good point." Shania blinked, peering up at her. Had she, somehow, gotten through to her, made her see how silly all this was? "We ought to get one of each, and then you can try them out for yourself."
"No!" Shania wailed. Getting one package of Pull-Ups was one thing... Getting this many hammered home the reality of this, the idea that Lindsay intended to keep her like this for a good, long while, and that she wasn't going to be giving her panties back anytime soon.
The outburst didn't help her with not drawing attention to herself, obviously, Shania blushing and wiggling on the floor at the strange looks she got from the next couple who slid down the aisle past her and Lindsay. To them, it probably looked like she was in the middle of a tantrum, having thrown herself on the floor grumpily... She wasn't sure if that was better than the truth or not.
"I'm doing this for you," Lindsay told her, voice saccharine. "I want you to have whatever is best for you, and this is the best way to find it!"
"I-I'll pick some!" Shania offered, crawling closer to the shelves, pulling herself up so she could get a better view. "Here!" She grabbed a pack with Minnie Mouse on them, certainly not mature by any stretch of the imagination, though at least it was a character she recognized, and that some people her age were still into.
Lindsay smirked. "So eager... You really want your Pull-Ups, don't you?"
The smaller woman's eyebrows furrowed, her mouth settling into a pout. She'd walked into that one. "Yes," she sighed, just wanting to get it over with. "I do, okay? Can we get them and go?"
"Of course, Shania," Lindsay beamed. "I'll get you those... And these... And look at these! We have to try them! Maybe we should have let that nice lady give us a cart after all!"
"I don't need all those!" Shania protested, watching Lindsay's armload of trainers grow bigger and bigger.
She knew she'd spoken out loud, even if Lindsay gave no indication of having heard her. Instead, she turned to Shania and asked, "Have you learned your lesson?"
"Yes!" Shania exclaimed. Did Lindsay mean with the crawling, or the Pull-Ups? Either way, she was at least ready to tell Lindsay what she wanted to hear to put an end to it if she could.
Lindsay smiled. "All right. Up you go, Shania!" Shania blinked, not knowing, at first, what that meant, until a moment or two later when she experimentally attempted to stand and found that she actually could again. A huge wave of relief washed over her as she got off the floor, brushing the dust from her knees, until she saw that her skirt was still too short with these diapers, especially once Lindsay began shoving packages of training panties into one of her arms before taking her other hand, leaving her with no way to try to keep her padding hidden as they toddled towards the cash registers, both loaded down with Pull-Ups that made it obvious that, while she might be getting a 'promotion' out of her diapers, nobody expected her to make it any further than that anytime soon.
"Mommy!" she groaned, wriggling in place, which only made her skirt sway, probably doing more harm than good in keeping it down over the crotch of her diaper. "Everyone can see!"
Her regret was instant as she saw the look on Lindsay's face, one that seemed to indicate she'd been waiting for Shania to do exactly this, that she'd known all along it would happen and Shania had simply played right into her hand. "You are so right, Shania! That outfit isn't really intended to be worn with diapers, is it? Why don't we go ahead and get you some that are, since we're already at the store?"
"No!" Shania squealed. Her little girl outfits were bad enough... "I-I don't need them! I'm wearing Pull-Ups now!"
"Better safe than sorry," Lindsay shrugged, guiding Shania back to the greeter at the front of the store.
"Someone is a big girl now!" the woman winked down at Shania, the girl blushing, wondering if she was referring to her being on her feet, or the slogan for Pull-Ups.
"Isn't she?" Lindsay smirked, dumping her trainers into one of the carts and giving Shania a crinkly pat on the bottom. "We realized we needed a few more things than we thought." She took Shania's training pants and put them into the cart as well before grabbing her hand, leading her back into the depths of the store, towards the children's section, and the deepest part of it, Shania's teeth clamping down harder and harder as they passed by the racks of clothes she recognized, that Lindsay had made her try on before, on to stuff even more childish than that.
"Let's see," Linday mused. "We'll definitely need some onesies... You can wear those under anything, or just on their own... And some more dresses..."
"No!" Shania complained. "I already have so many stupid dresses! I don't want more!"
"But look at how precious these are!" Lindsay grabbed one off the shelf, one far puffier and frillier than any already in Shania's closet, holding it up to her, Shania whimpering as she saw the skirt on it was so short it would barely hide any of her diaper while she was wearing it. "Perfect!"
"So, so grumpy," Lindsay mocked. "I bet I know what's wrong..." Of course she did; it was the diaper around Shania's waist, the cartload of Pull-Ups, the absurdity of all of the outfits that were being tossed into the shopping cart alongside them. "You're hungry, aren't you? You're ready for a nice, big supper, then a bath, then to be tucked into your bed!"
"No, I'm not!" Shania stomped her foot. It was too early to even be considered the evening yet!
"Oh, yes, you are," Lindsay told her. "We need to fill that little tummy of yours up! And to make that easier..." She picked up an oversized, pink bib, pulling Shania into the fitting room and stripping her out of her old outfit, putting the bib on her. It was big enough to cover her chest, and had a tie around the bottom of it to keep it in place, but didn't do much more than that, ending well short of the waistband of her diaper. "You'd better hope you don't have any accidents before we get out of the store," Lindsay teased. "Everyone will be able to see!"
"Mommy!" Shania squealed, her bladder suddenly feeling very full at that threat, her eyes darting back to the mirror, at the ridiculous sight of herself in a bib, diaper, and Velcro sneakers. "Y-You can't...!"
"I'm doing it for you, sweetie," Lindsay claimed. "This way, you'll be ready to eat as soon as we get home!"
"Mommy!" Shania fumed, but it did her no good, Lindsay pulling her out of the fitting room. She whimpered, sidling in right next to Lindsay, attempting to hide there, to escape the view of everyone she toddled past as she was led the long way around the store. They didn't walk for long before Lindsay stopped again.
"Look at that, Shania," she pointed out. "They have high chairs and cribs on sale right now... That's exactly what we need for your evening, isn't it? I bet your Daddy could get those assembled for you in no time if you ask him sweetly!"
Shania gasped, cheeks blazing as she felt a trickle of warmth soak into her padding as she stared up at the high chair, imagining being stuck in that, feet dangling, forced to eat whatever Lindsay, or Mrs. Knight, wanted her to, unable to get away until they were satisfied she'd had her fill... Then looking over at the crib, at its high bars, an extra layer of protection against any more escape attempts. And to have to toddle up to Bennett in this outfit, to beg him to put them together for her, like that was what she wanted more than anything...
She wanted to put her foot down, to inform Lindsay that she wouldn't do it, wouldn't play along... But then she thought about being forced to crawl out of the store, or Lindsay making her use her diaper even further, extending that damp spot she'd already made so it would be all the more obvious, or even... Her head spun. Lindsay wouldn't make her do any more than that... Right?
She didn't want to find out, couldn't take it, not today. So, instead, she stood by silently, helplessly, as Lindsay loaded the baby furniture into the cart, watching as her old, adult life slipped further and further away...
