CYOA: The Exchange Student - Chapter 7 (Story)
🕑 Added 2023-04-04 12:00:02 +0000 UTCAnna bit her bottom lip, staring down at her lap, at the diaper beneath her pajamas, giving it one more poke. Suddenly, the idea of wearing it for her whole trip was starting to feel real to her, like more than a silly fantasy, and the idea of having to find places to change, of being certain to change herself properly so there wasn't another - even more humiliating - leak, of having to change herself multiple times every day, of keeping it a secret, began to weigh on her.
There had been a part of her, she had to admit, that had expected this place to be not quite real, to be different enough from home that she wouldn't mind if everyone knew, but that's not what she got. Things weren't quite the same, no, yet, so far, it was mostly different brands she'd seen on billboards, and in the vending machines at the airports. The people themselves were pretty similar, neither dumb enough to be likely to have believed some of the more fantastical stories she'd dreamed of telling them about how nobody in her country got potty trained until they were twenty, nor sophisticated enough to look down on her and her people and be unsurprised that a girl her age from there would need diapers.
It made sense... Even if it felt like her mind did a lot of the time, the world did not revolve around diapers. It would have made all this easier, however, it was too late to turn back now. She not only had gotten rid of her panties, she'd told Karissa her story about needing diapers, and if she chickened out now, asked to be taken lingerie shopping, her new roommate would know that had been a lie, and that might be worse.
Karissa did seem nice, and Anna thought she could trust her, though, to be fair, she'd had little choice about it so far, and Karissa hadn't had that many opportunities to betray her. There was a difference between ratting her out to her cute boyfriend, or in public, and doing it in private... Would Karissa go to her parents and let them know about Anna's secret? Surely she wouldn't want to be stuck being the one who had to help Anna change the whole time; she might not even want to be stuck sharing a room with her, knowing she wore diapers.
There weren't a lot of options when it came to that. Her face warmed, imagining being forced to go room with the little brother because she claimed to be incontinent, since he was the one who most recently had the same problem. That was much too similar to the idea of having to share a room with Max, and she couldn't think of many things she wanted to do less than that.
Realistically, she knew, someone else was going to discover her diapers sooner or later, and it was likely going to be either the mom or Aidan... If she went to the mom now and hoped for mercy, she'd probably help, and perhaps would give her a hand in keeping Aidan from snooping and figuring it out as well.
She took a deep breath and hopped off the bed, picking up her carry-on bag, her mind made up. If Karissa was as understanding as she had been, she had to have gotten that from somewhere... Probably her parents, right? Or at least her mom, who, so far, appeared to be the nicer of the two. It wasn't like Anna was going to be asking the dad to change her anytime soon anyway; that was far too embarrassing for her first day back in diapers.
She crept through the house, looking around at the pictures hanging on the walls, taking in the layout a bit more, trying to get used to the layout of the place she'd be living for the next few months as she searched for Karissa's mother, praying she'd be somewhere away from her husband.
Her prayers, in this case, were not answered, or, rather were answered with a resounding, 'No!' She started to blush again as she peeked through one doorway into the master bedroom and saw the parents both in there, the father sitting on the bed, flicking through his phone, while the mother walked around the room, talking to him.
She would have assumed she was the subject of their conversation either way, even if she hadn't introduced herself to them in a diaper, and that was practically confirmed when the mom's head turned towards her as she stepped into view and immediately shut up, a hint of pink flooding her cheeks. Anna fidgeted, tugging at her shirt, instantly wondering if this had been the right decision after all, if maybe Karissa was so nice not because she'd been taught it by her parents, but as a reaction to parents who were the opposite. Karissa hadn't made fun of her, not yet - though she had thought she was younger when she'd helped her change - however, she suddenly began to worry her mom would.
"Hey, Anna," the older woman spoke up after a moment. "What's up? Do you need something?"
Anna's eyes darted over to the man on the bed, then back to his wife. She was being silly, she told herself, paranoid. And it wasn't like this was going to get any easier if she waited, if she didn't get it out of the way as soon as possible. Feeling the host mom's eyes on her, she was more certain than ever she wouldn't be able to keep it a secret forever, that she would know sooner or later... And probably sooner.
"Umm... Mrs..." She froze, feeling bad as she blanked on their last name.
The woman smiled. "Mrs. Florez," she helped her out. "You can call me Mom, if you want... I know it might be a little weird, but that's how I want you to think of me while you're here, okay? I'm here to help you with whatever you need. I'm sure it's scary, being in a whole different country, away from all your friends..."
Anna nodded, although she was doing the opposite, trying her best not to think of Mrs. Florez as her mother, because she'd never in a million years let her mom know about her diapers, or attempted to tell such a big, elaborate lie to her as the one she was planning on spinning for this woman. "I-I do need some help," she admitted. "But..."
She glanced over at Mr. Florez. "Oh, I have some work I need to get done in the garage," he said, putting his phone in his pocket and standing up, giving his wife a kiss as he passed by, patting Anna on the shoulder. "I'm glad you're here."
"Y-You don't have to leave!" she blushed guiltily, though she didn't know how convincing she was able to make it sound, since that was, in fact, exactly what she wanted him to do.
"Don't worry about it," Mrs. Florez assured her. "He's been talking about some project he wanted to finish up out there all week. Now, what can I do for you, dear? You aren't thinking about running away already, are you?"
That was, in a way, exactly what she was pondering, wondering how odd the woman would find it if she turned tail and scurried back to Karissa's room. She had hoped she was doing a better job than that at hiding it, but perhaps she was, considering the nod Mrs. Florez gave to the bag in her hand, insinuating that was why she'd asked the question.
"N-No," Anna told her. "N-Not quite..." She stepped nervously into the bedroom, closing the door behind her. "I-I have something I need to tell you, ma'am..."
"You don't have to call me that," the woman shook her head. "Honestly, I'd prefer Mrs. Florez to that, if you aren't ready for 'Mom' yet."
"O-Okay," Anna replied, trying to remember to file that away, though, with her nerves at the moment, she was doubtful it would take. "M-Mrs. Florez, I have something I need to tell you."
"Of course," Mrs. Florez said. "You can tell me anything, Anna, just like your real mom."
Anna wished she could tell the woman to stop telling her that, to stop making that comparison, that it was making it more difficult for her to do what needed to be done. She definitely couldn't do that... According to the story she was about to tell, there was no way her mother wouldn't be aware of her diapers, especially if Anna was so inexperienced with putting them on herself that she had to have help.
"I-I don't know if the study abroad place told you or not," she started, seeing a way to wiggle out of some of the responsibility herself, to maybe make this sound like less of her fault.
Mrs. Florez frowned, obviously confused; she couldn't be told something the study abroad program hadn't been aware of in the first place. "Told me what?"
Anna swallowed. This was it... It had been tough, telling Karissa, but that had been different. She hadn't known, then, that she'd ever see the girl again after they got off the plane. She would be seeing Mrs. Florez every day... And, after this, very possibly getting changed by her every day.
"I-I, uh... I-I'm..." She would have thought she'd be more prepared for this, as much as she fretted about it, yet, somehow, this part of the process had never been what she was worried about. It was what came afterwards, what Mrs. Florez's reaction would be, even though that was dependent on how she phrased this.
"Hey," Mrs. Florez reached out, took her hand. "I'm sure it's not that bad..."
Anna sniffled, staring up at her, feeling so tiny, so helpless, so much like she belonged in these soggy diapers around her waist. She was such a baby, going through all this trouble just to try them out... And now, once she confessed to her host mom, she was going to be stuck in them. But that was already the case, wasn't it? Karissa knew, and that, really, should have been the scarier task, since she could tell all their classmates, ruin her semester abroad... What was Mrs. Florez going to do?
With her free hand, unzipped her carry-on, which suddenly felt more like a diaper bag as she rustled through it, fingers closing around one of her spare diapers. She wished she'd gone with something more plain, less babyish... It was the same as the one she was wearing, though, and that one was infinitely more humiliating, considering the state of it.
Wordlessly, she yanked the diaper out, doing it quickly so she wouldn't chicken out, offering it to Mrs. Florez. It took the woman a moment, blinking at it uncertainly. "What is..?" she asked, taking it, question instantly answered when she felt the padding, heard the crinkle. "Oh," she nodded, a slight smile flickering across her face. "I see."
Anna very much wanted to hide her own face in her hands, to disappear. She could practically see the pieces falling into place in the woman's mind, her eyes turning to Anna's crotch with another nod. "I-I'm sorry," she squeaked. "I-It's a medical condition! I-I can't help it!"
"Then you have nothing to be sorry about, sweetie," Mrs. Florez cooed at her. "It's all right. I'm glad you trusted me enough to let me know." She pulled Anna into a hug, one that ended with a gentle, crinkly, pat on the bottom that Anna found shockingly comforting, despite how embarrassing it also was. "I can see why you were anxious about sharing a room with Karissa, but I'm afraid we don't really have a choice. Do you want me to help you tell her?"
"N-No," Anna shook her head. "Sh-She already knows..." Mrs. Florez looked surprised. "Sh-She knows because... Th-This isn't all..."
"It isn't?"
"N-No," Anna repeated. "I, umm... I-I kinda need help with changing, too." She pulled her hand free of Mrs. Florez's, grabbing her changing pad and powder out of her bag as well. "I-I know it's silly, because I'm a big girl, and I should be able to do it myself, but I'm really not good at it. Karissa gave me a hand on the plane and now here, I thought maybe..."
Mrs. Florez's eyebrow raised. "You want me to change you?"
Anna gulped, nodded. "Yes, please."
She watched as Mrs. Florez took the supplies from her and began to set them up on her bed, feeling a wave of relief wash over her to see that it wasn't a 'no', that she was willing to help. That wave turned ice cold in an instant, however, as the woman's tone turned more serious when she said, "All right... There is one thing you need to know, though, young lady..."
Anna squirmed, staring up at her, knowing that, no matter what it was, she was in the palm of the woman's hand now, that she had very little chance of getting her way out of this. But what was it going to be?!
What will Mrs. Florez say?
"I'm not going to lie to my family about this, so they'll all have to know."
"I can tell you're lying, and if you want to act like a baby in this house, you will be treated like one."
"You are so adorable! I wonder if you could fit into some of Karissa's clothes from when she was little?"
Or, "I'll do my best to keep your secret for you, okay, sweetie?"
