Compromise - Chapter 32
🕑 Added 2023-03-24 12:00:01 +0000 UTCHeather wasn't quite sure what to do, or even how she should feel. On one hand, it was something she'd been dreaming of, almost ever since she'd met Lizzie, certainly since she'd convinced her to wear diapers now and then.
And it had been incredible, Heather couldn't deny that. In the moment, she couldn't think of anything she'd seen that was quite as cute as the little girl, knees slightly bent, face red, the seat of her shortalls slowly, yet surely, ballooning outwards behind her as she grew visibly more and more flustered, more and more confused...
It had taken a feat of will not to do as Luther had, to give Lizzie a pat on the backside when she came to her, so sweet, so pitiful... At the very least, she wanted to scoop her up into her arms, hold her close... If she did that, however, she might not have been able to let her go, to send her off to do what they had come here to do in the first place.
She was a tiny bit offended, too, that Lizzie was willing to do this now, for a job, when she had never so much as entertained the notion for Heather. And why? A wet diaper would have done the trick well enough, put Luther at ease, not that he'd seemed to see her as a threat, or anything more than a vulnerable little to tease.
She did her best to be discrete, to not draw attention to Lizzie, though she couldn't help sneaking peeks at her, both to see what progress she was making, and because she was so cute right now, toddling around in her dirty diaper...
Lizzie wasn't toddling for long, however, having planted herself by the diaper bag and remained there, hugging her teddy, sucking on her pacifier, sitting on the floor. Heather didn't think much of it at first, assuming she was putting her equipment together, or waiting for the perfect moment; the longer it went on, and the girl didn't move, the less sure she was that was the case.
How could she check on her, though, without tempting Luther to look, too, potentially spoiling their plan, everything they'd worked so hard to do, that Lizzie had been willing to fill her pants to accomplish? So she fought her instinct and kept talking, not giving Lizzie more than a glance or two, until she began to realize that something was definitely wrong.
There was no way it should be taking this long... Perhaps the equipment was damaged somehow, or Lizzie was having second thoughts. Whatever it was, Heather was certain the girl ought to have done something if it was all going correctly, and the fact she hadn't was beginning to make the hair on the back of Heather's neck stand up in fear. Did Lizzie know that they were caught already?
Praying that she wasn't about to ruin everything, Heather stepped back, pretending to lean over to get something out of the diaper bag. If she did it right, she'd keep Luther's eyes on her, could keep them there if Lizzie gave her a signal that she wasn't finished and move back in front of the girl.
She didn't do that. Lizzie didn't give her any signal at all, barely seemed to register she was there as she stared blankly ahead, mouth slowly moving as it sucked on her paci in an automatic, almost dreamlike, way. There was still a cuteness to it, but more than that, it sent a shiver of fear down Heather's spine. If Lizzie was acting, she was doing an incredible job... Why would she be going so hard here, like this, facing away from Luther, though? It was possible there was a camera hidden in that direction, maybe, that she'd spotted, that had alerted her that she'd have to rethink her strategy...
Something in the pit of Heather's stomach told her it wasn't as simple as that. Lizzie was a clever, talented woman... Heather wasn't sure she was capable of this, however.
"Hey," Heather said, reaching out and stroking Lizzie's hair. "Do you need a change?"
Lizzie looked up at her, finally, moving her eyes from the hole she was staring in the wall. They lit up at the sight of Heather, which warmed the Amazon's heart, before they blinked, struggling to process the words that had come out of her mouth, despite how plain they had been, how short the question was.
"You need a change," Heather decided, shaking her head, the whole thing starting to scare her too much. She picked up the diaper bag, slinging it over her shoulder, then scooping Lizzie up as well, the girl snuggling into her side, not resisting or protesting at all.
"You're spoiling her," Luther taunted. "I bet she doesn't even want out of that diaper yet. My girl will happily sit in her messy pants for hours!"
It took everything Heather had in her to stay calm, to not scream at him, to keep her voice as steady as she could. "Well, I'm going to change her," she informed him. "I-I'd rather not smell her that long."
She felt bad, adding that in, but it did seem to soften the blow of her ignoring his advice, and if Lizzie noticed it at all, she didn't react, which further confirmed something was wrong. That ought to have at least earned a blush, or a soft little whimper behind her paci...
"You can do it here," Luther offered. "There's still room in the diaper pail."
She could have... If this was part of Lizzie's plan, the girl might be angry at her if she didn't, if she pulled her away from the site of the job now... Looking at Lizzie now, however, in her arms, mind seemingly empty, she couldn't bring herself to believe that was the case. "N-No," she shook her head, frantically searching for an explanation that wasn't the truth, that she didn't want to embarrass Lizzie further by cleaning her messy bottom in front of Luther. "I-It's pretty bad," she settled on after a few moments, trusting that, if Lizzie hadn't reacted to the last implied insult, she wouldn't to this, either. She was correct. "I-I wouldn't want to subject you to that... I doubt even your diaper pail could handle it."
She excused herself as normally as she was able, waiting until she was out of his office to pick up the pace, to start walking more quickly towards the bathroom. "Lizzie?" she whispered. "Elizabeth, are you okay?"
Lizzie didn't answer, staring around at the office, cuddling in closer whenever she spotted someone new passing through her field of view, bottom wiggling in Heather's arms. Heather didn't want to break into a run, knew that would just be more suspicious, attract more questions from anyone who saw her, but she got as close as she dared.
She burst into the bathroom, into one of the stalls with a changing table. Heather was so grateful the bathroom was set up that way, rather than having the table out in the open, as some did, that they'd have a little privacy. "Kitten, what's wrong?" she asked, popping open the snaps on the crotch of the shortalls, revealing the heavy, soiled diaper underneath. "Oh, kitten, it's okay," she cooed. "It's all right..."
Heather pulled open the tapes, started to wipe Lizzie clean, while the girl hugged her teddy bear tight, squirming and sniffling. It was a good sign, Heather told herself, seeing her reacting a bit more like herself, though not enough to say anything when Heather pulled a fresh diaper out of the bag instead of one of the spare Pull-Ups, automatically wrapping that around Lizzie's backside and taping it snugly into place.
She didn't realize what she was doing until it was done, blushing slightly herself as she looked down at her handiwork, turning back towards the little on the changing table after tossing the old diaper into the garbage can by the toilet. "Sorry, sweetie," she said. "I-I didn't think... We can change..."
Lizzie shook her head, the light seeming to come back to her eyes slowly, bringing back a little more of the girl's usual self. She groaned, tugging at her outfit, and Heather was happy to help her out, sliding the shortalls, and then onesie, off of her, setting them aside, leaving her sitting there in just her diaper, socks and sneakers.
"Th-That's better," Lizzie said quietly from behind her paci, Heather barely able to understand her. A shudder ran through the girl as she glanced over at the clothes she'd been taken out of, and Heather was quick to pick them up, stuff them into the diaper bag, out of sight, before plucking the pacifier out of Lizzie's mouth, since she hadn't seemed to think of doing it herself.
"What happened?" Heather asked. "What went wrong?"
"I-It wasn't my fault!" Lizzie insisted, though the whiny tone to her voice made it sound like she was a small child who knew that wasn't the case, yet who assumed that the louder they declared it, the more likely their caretaker was to believe it, despite the opposite being true.
"It's all right," Heather rubbed her arm. "Breathe... What happened?"
"Y-You know what happened," Lizzie sniffled, staring down at the floor, far below her feet, dangling from the edge of the changing table. "I-I... I-I pooped... I-I pooped my..."
She couldn't bring herself to say it, to confess to it out loud, not that either of them needed her to do that, really. "But why?" Heather took mercy on her, cutting her off.
"I-I didn't mean to!" Lizzie squealed. "I-It wasn't my fault! A-And once I did, it was just so... I just felt... I-I couldn't..."
Heather didn't want to make her more upset, however, she couldn't help herself, had to ask, "So, you didn't... finish the job?" She was able, at least, to not blurt the whole thing out, to remember that they were trying to be stealthy, and that she didn't know who might be listening in from another stall.
Lizzie didn't have to say a word to give Heather her answer, her eyes widening so much, Heather almost wondered if she was, somehow, in the midst of messing her diaper again, her hands flying up to cover her mouth. "The job!" she gasped. "I-I forgot... I-I was... I-I didn't..."
"Shh," Heather gave her a hug. On one hand, she didn't mind everything they'd done, had enjoyed getting to go shopping, picking up some outfits and such for her nursery, had found it fun to have a little with her at work... On the other, she could have done without the stress of today. "It's okay."
"No, it isn't!" Lizzie whimpered. "I messed it up! I messed it up so bad! How are we gonna get back in there now?!"
"Lizzie, calm down," Heather told her, shocked she was the one having to say it when Lizzie was the expert here, the one used to going undercover. Clearly, she wasn't used to going this far, however... "I'm sure we'll think of something... But for now, I think we need to get you out of here."
Lizzie took a deep breath, nodded. "Y-Yeah... Y-Yeah, that's a good idea..."
She flinched when Heather began to dig through the diaper bag for an outfit, setting the onesie and shortalls back down on the changing table to get them out of the way. "You don't have to wear those," Heather promised. "Would you prefer the sleeper or dress?"
Lizzie wrinkled her nose at the choice. "I don't wanna look like I just got up from a nap," she pouted. "So I guess the dress."
"Okay," Heather took the pink play dress out of the bag, pulling it over Lizzie's head, the girl groaning as she looked at herself, tugging at the hem.
"Mommy!" she protested, kicking her feet. "Everyone's gonna see my diaper!"
"No, they won't," Heather replied soothingly. "Look, I brought these shorts to go with it just in case, remember?" She held up the yellow shorts.
"O-Oh," Lizzie blushed. "Right."
Even with the shorts, there was no doubt what Lizzie was wearing. Heather debated asking if Lizzie wanted to switch to Pull-Ups, but, for now, she thought it more important to get Lizzie out of the office and back home, rather than taking the time to do that. Or did she just want to see her in them for longer? It was very sweet, seeing the bulge there, beneath her shorts... And it wasn't like Lizzie had requested the thinner padding...
Heather knew it wasn't fair to use that as an excuse, not when she didn't think Lizzie had broken completely out of her daze yet, but she couldn't help herself. It would make more sense for the trip out, she reasoned. If Lizzie was leaving in a different outfit, having her also in a diaper, rather than a Pull-Up, as well would provide a justification for the change that would require no further explanation. Lizzie might not like what that was, though she'd probably prefer it to being stopped multiple times on the way to the car to talk about it.
"I-I don't know what happened, Mommy," she shook her head, still sitting on the edge of the changing table while Heather re-packed the diaper bag. "I-I knew what I was s'posed to do, but after... I-I'm sorry, I-I just..."
"Don't worry about it," Heather told her. "It isn't important. I'm the one who's sorry. I should have known something was wrong sooner."
She decided to pick Lizzie up and carry her again, and Lizzie didn't fight it, seemingly happy to ride along, going back to hugging her teddy as they swung by Heather's office to get her keys. Heather opened her mouth to tell Cassie she was leaving to drop Lizzie off with her Nanny, but her secretary spoke first.
"Aww, look at that!" Cassie giggled, hopping up from her desk and giving Lizzie's padding a poke. "Looks like you wound up in your cute little kitten diapers after all! Can I see?"
Suddenly, it all clicked into place. Heather's grip on Lizzie tightened as she recalled the scene she'd returned to her office to see, the eagerness with which Cassie had been about to change Lizzie... She didn't get the sense that Lizzie had meant to mess her diaper, that it had been part of her plan at all, which meant someone else must have 'helped' her, and she'd been alone with Cassandra... Heather had left her alone with Cassandra...
"You want to see them, huh?" Heather's eyes narrowed. "Well, come on, then!"
"H-Hey!" Cassie gasped as Heather's hand closed around her wrist, dragging her into her office, struggling to keep up, wobbling on her heels. "Wh-What are you doing?!"
Heather dropped Lizzie off at the couch, never letting go of her secretary, pulling her across the office, over to her desk. "Here, why don't you get a nice, close look at them?"
She set the diaper bag down on her desk, unzipped it, producing one of the diapers, pushing it in front of Cassie's face. "Isn't it cute?" she demanded.
She could feel Cassie starting to shake, her eyes confused, and scared. "Y-Yeah," she nodded. "I-It is..."
"If you like it so much, maybe you ought to wear it," Heather glared at her, watching Cassie gulp.
"I-I don't know what you... I-I don't need..." Cassie shook her head, her words growing more frantic as Heather's intensity refused to break, as she realized this wasn't some joke. She tried to pull away, but she didn't stand a chance against Heather, not when she was angry.
"You're not so big," Heather reminded her. "Especially if you didn't have those heels on. I bet these would fit you just fine..."
"H-Heather!" Cassie squealed, eyes widening. "St-Stop it!"
"And after you tell me exactly what you did to her, so I can do the same to you, and you use these, I'm going to take those heels away, and march you right down to the adoption agency, and they won't think twice about accepting you, and..." Heather sneered, leaning in closer and closer, until she felt a tug on her jacket.
"M-Mommy, no," Lizzie said from behind her. "I-It's not her fault..."
"Then whose was it?" Heather demanded.
Lizzie squirmed, blushed, gave a shrug. Heather couldn't quite tell if it was genuine or not, if Lizzie was just too scared of what might happen if she told the truth... Immediately, Heather felt ashamed for letting her instincts take over. If she was right, then Cassie might deserve it... She had to know for sure first, though... And it was really up to Lizzie what punishment would be appropriate even then.
"M-Maybe it was mine..." Lizzie answered after a moment, sounding uncertain, whether that was because she didn't want to see any more of Heather's wrath, or because she honestly didn't know.
Heather gave Cassie one more pointed glare, the secretary shrinking back as much as she could in the larger woman's tight grip, then let go. Cassie stumbled away, nearly losing her balance on her heels, carefully adjusting her outfit, Heather noticing, for the first time, the wet spot on her skirt.
She sighed, slipping out of her jacket. "Here," she offered it. "Put this on... It should hide it."
"H-Hide what?" Cassie tried to sound oblivious, as if she didn't know what she'd done, how much she had justified what Heather had been on the verge of doing to her. She did take the coat, however.
"I'm going to take Lizzie back home, so you have time to go get changed, too," Heather said. Cassie nodded and scurried out of the office, and, by the time Heather had grabbed her purse and stepped out as well, she was gone.
Lizzie stayed quiet until they were back in Heather's apartment, Heather getting ready to go back to the office. "I'm sorry," she told Heather again. "I-I don't know how we're going to get back into his office now without it looking suspicious."
"We'll think of something," Heather promised. "Why don't you hang out here for the rest of the day? I'll get you changed into your Pull-Ups so you can use the toilet. We'll talk when I get home."
That should give her time to calm down, get fully back to normal after whatever had happened in Luther's office, Heather thought. And hopefully, by that evening, she would have come up with a better solution than the one Heather had to offer, prompted by the text message Luther had sent her while she was driving to her apartment.
'Are you bringing Lizzie in tomorrow?' he'd asked. 'I could bring my little one in for a play-date, if you think Lizzie will be up for it.'

Just wanted to say this is the story I look forward to updates on the most. Now that we are getting deep in, watching all these little compromises unfold, I look forward to seeing how it all ends.

I would just diaper her, let someone else adopt her!
Guilend
But it was her fault and should have been punished for it. Especially now that she wet herself. Heather should have adopted her and kept her as her diapered/toddler secretary.
