Simon let a smirk curl over his face before brushing his fingers through John's hair messing it up beyond repair.
"Come let's do a sweep then we have to go,"
"Right,"
They walk through the flat making sure they leave nothing behind. There wasn't much they forgot to pack mostly just the towel they shared and the hairdryer. John folded the damp towel neatly and recoil the cord around the hairdryer handle. holding the items in his arms he walks over to Simon and Questions,
"Ready to go then, Si?"
"Yeah, ready,"
they walk to the door and exit the flat.
Would you mind waiting here for a minute, Johnny?"
"Oh.., uh sure, I guess,"
Simon walks back into his flat closing the door behind him. he stands in the centre of the room looking around recalling the unpleasant memories of his father.
He stands there for a few minutes taking the moment in before he mutters to himself,
"Well..., old man this is finally the end, I'm leaving this shithole for good, your suspicions were right your youngest turned out to be a fag..., and guess what I'm about to spend the rest of my life with the man who loves me even with the scars you damned me with for the rest of my life. So fuck you..., old man, hope you rot in hell,"
John's ear is pressed against the door hearing every word Simon just said his eyes widen in horror, and whispers to himself,
"It finally makes sense, it all finally makes sense, the uncomfortable conversation in the car and why he wanted to have sex before he leaves this place behind for good. he's more damaged than I thought,"
The doorknob turns and John jumps back pretending he didn't just eavesdrop but his rapid jerks gave him away.
"You heard me, didn't you?"
John looks away averting his gaze from Simon.
"Johnny?"
"Aye..., I did,"
Simon sighed heavily a look of disappointment crawling over his face. John's eyes filled with tears dropping the towel and hairdryer to the floor. he scurries to pick them back up but Simon catches him in his arms before he can bend down.
"Johnny..., there was a reason I didn't want to talk about it,"
"I know Simon, I'm sorry I did what I did."
John buries his face deep in Simon's chest as he curls his arms around Simon's waist.
"Johnny...
My father beat me relentlessly as a child with the help of my older brother. the scars littering my face and body are their doing, I hide my face because it is a reminder of them. My father might be dead but his memory lives on my face. I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want to be pitied. I joined the military to escape their abuse and I created the Ghost persona hiding my true identity from you lot burying my past starting a new life. I knew where my sexuality lay, but buried it along with my identity until I met you all those years ago, I knew I had feelings for you but I knew I couldn't have you so I distanced myself from you lot, apart from Price who I confided in,"
John looked up at Simon meeting his gaze and seeing the truth in his eyes. taking his hands into his own.
"Si, I would never pity you, you are my Ghost, my soul mate, however, I want you to share with me, open up with me, we can't have secrets. if this is going to work between us we have to open up to each other no matter the circumstances. and just so by the way I love your scars, I can't imagine you without them, and if I can be perfectly honest they are kind of hot,"
Simon stood there for a moment before clutching John in his arms and hugging him tight as tears filled his eyes and ran down his face.
"Si-mon..., I can't breathe,"
"Shit, sorry, Love,"
Simon lessened his grip on him but continued hugging him gently, John sigh resting his temple in the crook of his neck and whispered,
"I love you, ghost,"
Simon grins happily hearing his call name. He peppers kisses along John's forehead as he releases him from his embrace.
John leans down and collects the towel and dryer cradling it in his one arm as Simon's hand curls around his other, They make their way down the four sets of stairs, walking hand in hand. John is slightly pulled along trying his best to keep up with Simon's pace.
They reach the door leading to Simon's private garage. Simon opens the door holding it open letting John enter first, he follows soon after closing the door behind him and locking it securely. John opens the door of his vehicle opening one of the boxes and nudging the hairdryer between the rest of the contents within. he walks over to the passenger door and opens it before rubbing the drying drool aggressively trying his best to clean the mess he made. later he laid the damp towel open over the two duffel bags to let it dry.
"Ready to go, Puppy?"
"Aye,"
"Time to meet your mother-in-law, then,"
John jumps at the word as a mischievous grin beams along Simon's face.
"Need a ring first,"
"Will get you one, then, Love,"
John sprouts a weak smile as Simon plants a kiss on the corner of his mouth before opening the passenger side door. He gets in making himself comfortable as Simon closes the door behind him. He sighs and revels in the moment before reaching for his seatbelt.
Simon opens his door sliding onto his seat before reaching for his seatbelt.
Not too soon he inserts the key into the ignition, starting the engine. he pushed a little red button on the dangling keys setting the garage door to open.
Later, they drive past the neighbouring neighbourhood closing in on Simon's mother's home. he takes a left turn, and the following homes are built similarly in style as they drive past. not too soon Simon makes another turn driving up a driveway, and parking in front of a double garage.
"Well then, here we are, Love,"
John smiles as he looks through the window taking in the colourful flowering garden. Simon rubs his thigh warmly before unbuckling both their seatbelts,
"nervous, Si?"
"Something like that, Johnny,"
"Why, then?"
"You're the first person I introduced to my family,"
John feels honoured in some sort of way being Simon's first but thinks to himself, "Am I his first?"
"Simon?"
"Yes, Johnny?"
'Am I..., y-your first?"
Simon paused for a moment his face unreadable before facing John.
"You are...,"
"So I'm the first person you ever slept with?"
"Yes...,"
John is surprised by Simon's honesty but is appreciative. He leans his head against Simon's shoulder while being met with peppering kisses along his scalp. John looks up meeting his gaze and staring deep into Simon's dark eyes.
Simon leans forward meeting John's lips as they share an intimate kiss. John curls his fingers along the back of Simon's neck brushing through the short locks.
A feminine squeak comes from the driveway, they part their lips following the noise. A short blond-haired woman stands a few meters away from them with an embarrassed look on her face mouth covered with her fingertips.
Simon pressed the button on his door letting his window roll down.
"Uh..., hi Simon, I'll wait for you two inside then, love,"
She scurries away leaving them in silence.
"I presume that's your mother, Si,"
"Yes"
"We better go then,"
"Wait, one last kiss before we go?"
"What, why?"
"Don't know when I'll be able to kiss you again,"
John smiles weakly nodding his head slightly at him. Simon curls his hand along his jaw gently pulling him into his embrace and locking their lips together.
The moment seemed to last forever but merely it was only a few seconds. John pulled away breaking their embrace and pressing his index against Simon's lips.
"We have to go now, Si, we are expected, besides, you can kiss me all night long,"
Simon pouts but grins mischievously at him before kissing him one last time on the corner of his mouth.
He gets out of the vehicle and walks to the passenger side opening the door for John.
"Simon I can do these things by myself you know,"
"I do..., Just let me, I want to,"
John breaks a weak smile as he is led by Simon to the front door. they stand before the lited door with stained glass windows. John rubs his hands over his borrowed hoodie rubbing the wrinkles away trying to make himself look presentable.
"Don't fuss, Johnny, you look good,"
"Oh stop,"
Simon laughed whisperingly as he reached for the doorbell.
A musical chime plays within the building.
A few tedious seconds go by, John fiddles with his fingers nervously, Simon notices and takes his hand into his own gently squeezing it.
"You'll be fine," He whispers looking down and meeting his gaze planting a kiss on his cheek. Not too soon the door swings open and the same short blond-haired woman stands before them.
"Hello, my darlings,"
