So the one type of crossover I am enjoying is Magic the Gathering's "Universes Beyond". It is neat to see characters from other franchises as MtG cards. What is problematic is they have tended to make a lot of the cards well more powerful than baseline, so the sets can become "must buys" rather than cool things you grab if you happen to like the other franchise.

I actually quite like crossovers in games, personally; although I've never, ever played Fortnite, I do sometimes watch the trailers to see which characters I can pick out from games I've played.

Even if the money slows down, the ones in charge won't take responsibility and change things. Something else will be blamed because mindless crossovers are cheap and easy. That means they can't be at fault.
