Matt's "which is saying a lot in 2024!" line really made my day; I see someone clearly doesn't approve of what's been going on in the U.S. lately. It's probably just as well I wasn't around in the bit where Washington learns of Arnold's betrayal while Arnold was creeping around those box things, or I'd have gone, "Uhh...Mr. Washington...HE'S BEHIND YOU!!!" Oh, yes, and one more thing: we don't stick our flag on the backs of sheep like that in this country...it'd be uncomfortable for the sheep, and they aren't even entitled to UK citizenship [to the fury of the Supreme Sheep]. Also, I have just learned my friend's farm's mascot ~ Lainey the Sheep ~ has just passed away from old age. :-(

When Arnold ran off after learning he'd been busted, he left Peggy behind. She put on a pretty spectacular performance of being shocked, shocked! that her dear husband would do such a thing! Which Washington and his entire staff completely bought. Of course, we now know that she was 100% in on it.

Benedict Arnold was a great episode and tied in beautifully with the American invasion of Canada. Without Arnold, it’s likely the US wouldn’t have won its independence. And because of Arnold, we almost lost it. Thank you for mentioning all of his various non-commemorating monuments. You missed the plaque at 62 Gloucester Pl London, England. The plaque calls him an American patriot. Also, the Spitfire, Arnold’s gunboat has been located and an attempt to rescue and preserve it is being carried out

Hey extra history thank you for telling us another fantastic story! I obviously heard of Benedict Arnold and his betrayal but I never knew of his previous heroic actions and tragic events in his life and my view of him has completely changed.
