There's nothing in history like a good rivalry. Whether it's Athens vs. Sparta, Tesla vs. Edison, or Ernest Hemingway vs... uh... Everyone... some of the most interesting and entertaining stories in history deal with the clash of two opposing personalities or cultures.
This series, we're going to feature one of the great heavyweight bouts of world history. It could be two individuals fighting it out, or two political entities, but it should be a head-to-head duel. A knock-down-drag-out-no-holds-barred historical cage match.
Does it need to involve fighting? Certainly not. It could be a scientific or artistic rivalry, all we need are two participants and the drama of their struggle.

Some notes about suggestions:
Suggestions should feature content before the 1930s
If a suggestion we encounter only has enough research material/production scope for a one-off episode instead of a full series, we file it in a separate list to reference later when we are planning to schedule a one-off episode between series (this is true for every survey we do).
Only one suggestion per person, please! Multiple suggestions from the same person during any given survey period will be manually removed. Extra History Suggestion Survey is OPEN until 8/6.

I love it, both as a silly historical event and a jumping off point to discuss scientific ethics and indigenous rights. A lot of the Bone Wars was contemporary and interconnected with the Sitting Bull series, but that link doesn't get brought up enough

the Russo-Japanese War was where a small Asian power defeated a far larger European style army. In no part thanks to the ill fated Russian fleet that sailed around the world. Nearly caused Britain to enter the war but didn't because they had no gunnery experience. And was basically a joke over all.

I'm torn between my beloved English Revolution (Charles vs. Parliament) and the Bone Wars (Cope vs. Marsh). After a lot of thought I'm submitting the English Revolution but I think Cope vs. Marsh would make a really good one-off episode.

Karl Marx vs Mikhail Bakunin. The father of Marxist socialism vs vs the father of Anarchist socialism. Their rivalry, both over politics and personality, would define both the founding of the First International Working Men's Association, it's downfall, and the soul of Left-wing politics in over a century to come. Their falling out was the source of Bismarck's quote that "Crowned heads, wealth and privilege may well tremble should ever again the Black and Red unite!".

An aspect I want to see is a debate. The one I'm suggesting is Hegal vs Schopenhauer, but another one I would like is Adam Smith vs Karl Mark (Even though the ladder never met unlike the former)
