I'm going to have to rewatch this on a Friday night... And take a drink for every "RAT BUTT!" 🤣 But yes, those quests take you out of the immersion like nothing else

I remember A Bard's Tale specifically making fun of this quest. It's just like starting every RPG party out in a tavern. It's cliche but fun if you invest the time into creating a memorable moment for the players. :)

The only time I saw the "kill 10 rats" type quest work was in City of Heroes where the point was to introduce you to a new villain group. But even that can be improved.
