"where did that extra stuff come from" is a common misunderstanding. It was always there. You just discover which reality you are in, not switch to one.

Haven't watched it yet - working - but perhaps it should say that "quantum particles do in fact do *appear to* do exactly that thing. " There's still other mainstream interpretations.
