Welcome new Patrons + Melvor Idle 2 Plan
🕑 Added 2025-04-30 02:24:03 +0000 UTCThis announcement serves as an introduction for what to expect over the coming months relating to Melvor Idle 2 and the Patreon program. We’ll update this post from time to time to keep it up to date! If you want to know what’s changed, check out the Changelog at the bottom.
Hello everyone!
Firstly I’d like to extend a massive THANK YOU and welcome all the new and returning Patrons. I appreciate your willingness to support us in the next chapter of our story!
This announcement serves as an introduction for what to expect over the coming months relating to Melvor Idle 2 and the Patreon program.
A note about Patreon Confidentiality
For those of you who are new here, I’d like to touch on confidentiality around information posted to Patreon.
When we post information, screenshots, provide playable builds that only you can access, or anything in between, we expect a level of confidentiality around this.
You will know about unannounced features before anyone else does, see unfinished content still being worked on, run into issues/bugs that no one else will see, play versions of content that might be bad and require a rework etc.
Patreon content is for Patrons only
All discussions must remain in the respective Discord channels or Patreon comments section. If information ends up outside these environments, then you risk losing your Patreon status.
There will be plenty of opportunities for the public to get their hands on the game and discuss outside of Patreon in the future.
Regular Patreon News Posts
Every 1-2 weeks, we will be posting a news post on Patreon detailing what has been achieved since we last spoke to you. These posts will vary in length depending on what has occurred behind the scenes.
There will be times where we may have not achieved much, but that’s the life of a developer. Sometimes we may spend weeks on a certain feature, reworking something, scrapping a planned idea that didn’t work etc.
Our plan is to keep you updated on the progress of development while also providing some insight into what goes on behind the scenes.
Melvor Idle 2 Steam Keys
There are TWO different Steam Keys to claim.
To claim your Steam Key for Melvor Idle 2, which will unlock upon Early Access launch, please follow this URL to claim your key: https://gamesbymalcs.itch.io/melvor-idle-2/patreon-access
To claim your Steam Key for Melvor Idle 2 ALPHA, tyo play right now, please follow this URL to claim your key: https://gamesbymalcs.itch.io/melvor-idle-2-alpha/patreon-access
Important Information about Steam Keys:
If you were gifted a Patreon subscription and can’t claim your key via Itch, please DM us here on Patreon!
You must be actively supporting via Patreon to access the Melvor Idle 2 ALPHA (In-game will connect to your Patreon account to verify access).
The Steam key does give you permanent access when Early Access launches publicly. It's a product key, so Steam will recognize that you own the game and work as if you purchased it.
Yes, this means when it reaches v1.0 you will still own the game.
Melvor Idle 2 Roadmap
I have created a basic Roadmap you can view on Trello which shows where we are at with development. This is where we will house our plans for certain features or functionality coming to the game.
You can view the Roadmap here: https://trello.com/b/DH6ke4fF/melvor-idle-2-roadmap
Be sure to read the “READ THIS FIRST” card by clicking on it as it contains vital information about how this Roadmap works and how to interpret it from your perspective.
Reminder that this stuff is confidential and for Patreon only. It will be made public in the future, but for now this is a Patreon-only roadmap.
You can also see our Roadmap in a simplified image format here:
Surveys
We’ll be posting Surveys alongside most major updates. It’s really important to us to get as much feedback as possible, so we’d ask you to fill out these surveys when you’re able to!
Playable Alpha Builds
Alpha Builds are available here for Elite Supporters: https://www.patreon.com/collection/1559522
Here’s some important information about the playable Alpha.
Alpha means Alpha
This is very important to understand. The build you will gain access to is extremely early in development. Please do not expect a polished experience. There will be bugs, crashes, missing features, placeholder text, unfinished UI and many other issues.
This is an opportunity to get an exclusive first look at the game's progress, provide feedback directly to us, and help shape the direction of Melvor Idle 2. Your input and reporting of bugs will be crucial in the development process.
Remember, this Alpha build is for those who want to be involved in the early stages of development and understand the nature of an alpha product. If you prefer a more stable and complete experience, it's best to wait for the official Early Access release.
Purpose of the Alpha
The Alpha for Melvor Idle 2 serves as a critical step in the early stages of development. Its primary purposes are to:
Gather Early Feedback: Obtain initial feedback on the User Interface (UI), core mechanics, and overall player experience. This feedback will be instrumental in guiding the direction of future development. Adjusting early will make future development a lot easier for us.
Identify Bugs and Issues: Uncover bugs, crashes, and technical issues early in the development cycle. This allows for timely fixes and improvements before the game reaches later stages.
Transparency: We want to be as transparent as possible with progress of development. Alpha builds are a great way to show you exactly where we are at, as well as show you the progress we make as feedback and updates flow through.
No Combat for the Initial Alpha
The initial Alpha build of Melvor Idle 2 will not include Combat. Combat is planned for inclusion in future builds as development progresses. There’s many core features that need to be added first which are required for Combat to function.
The initial Alpha is primarily for testing other aspects of the game and providing feedback on those systems.
Patience is requested for the addition of Combat in later phases of the development cycle.

A little disappointment here, but it's understandable. "The initial Alpha build of Melvor Idle 2 will not include Combat. " I am really interested to see the combat mechanics. Even if it's just a sample monster, I was hoping to see how it worked.
