Announcing Patreon Changes!
🕑 Added 2020-02-05 17:01:01 +0000 UTCHey everyone, we have some really exciting news! After a lot of thought and hard work, we’re ready to reveal our super secret plans we’ve been cooking up for the last few months. We’re revamping our Patreon on Feb 12!
As you know, for the last year, we’ve had two Patreons: Extra History and Extra Mythology. While the support across each of them has been fantastic, it has also divided our attention on Patreon. Plus, there wasn’t a good place to share bonus content for fans of the Extra Credits series. So in that spirit, we’ve decided to end the Extra Mythology specific patreon and expand the Extra History patreon to be channel wide instead of focusing on just a single show. This will allow us to streamline our tiers and offer bigger and better rewards for all of you to enjoy.
How does this change affect you?
It actually doesn’t affect you at all... if you don't want it to! If you are happy with your current tier, you can stay there indefinitely, and your perks will not change. Those rewards aren’t going anywhere. While we will be unlisting the current tiers on the 12th, you are grandfathered in and your current rewards level will continue. Actually depending on your current tier, you’ll probably be gettin even more!

Brand New Patron Discord! - We’ve heard this request for quite a while now and we’re really excited to give you all a space to chat about the shows, enjoy each other’s company, and have a space where we can hang out with you as well.
Hi-Res Wallpapers - Our artists always kill it each episode with amazing and hilarious art, so we’re going to be sharing a frame from each episode as a 4k wallpaper you can use to decorate your screens.
End-of-Show Credits Overhaul - More of you deserve credit for keeping this channel going! We’re lowering the inclusion of your name in the show end credits from the previous $50 tier to our new $20 tier. But for the beautiful patrons at $50, we have something exciting and new for you! We’re going to place a photo of you in our Bean-o-matic-5000 and you’ll get a nifty Extra Credits style version of your face to go with your name at the end of the show.

We’ll be putting together one big ol’ megapost for when all of the changes are implemented on the 12th, letting you know what you need to do in order to access your rewards. We will also be adjusting our welcome letters with the instructions on how to access all of the new content we plan on putting out.

Thanks for the response! The $10 tier doesn't appear to be an option for me. I assume Patreon has me as being part of that tier, just contributing $5 extra per month. At this point I'll probably just wait for the new tiers to happen and sign up for the $20 tier then :)

If you still have an $8 by the 12th, you'll be grandfathered in and can keep your benefits at the $8 tier.

Wow! That is from way back when! Unfortunately, isn't a tier that exists anymore. I would suggest either switching to the $8 tier before the 12th if you're only interested in making Extra History topic suggestions, or switching to the $10 tier if you want to ask questions on our lies episodes & access to episode wallpapers too!

Your $5 pledge should stay the same, you'll just have additional access to the new discord. :)

I apparently have a $15 pledge from way back when this patreon first started, which it looks like is no longer a thing? What even are my perks at that level? Will this super grandfather tier still be transferred, or should I consider changing my tier finally?

Everyone will be grandfathered into the tier they are at on the 12th, so you will still be able to suggest a topic!

The cards were a one-off stretch goal for Extra History. They were a lot of fun to make, but we didn't have any cards planned for the future, even before we started thinking of this change. While we don't have any stretch goals planned for right now (we wanna make sure we can deliver awesome tiers first!), cards from the other series would be a lot of fun so we'll keep it in mind for the future.

would you please consider offering a lower resolution of the wallpaper to all tiers? Also, how will this affect the cards? will we be getting more cards (say cards from each series line, or will only the history cards continue)?
