"Kid, you said to eat it all. This old man has finished. Can we call it done now?"
Rayleigh looked visibly shaken.
His eyes still trembled a little as he spoke.
It was obvious that the treatment just now had taken quite a toll on him.
"I know you're in a rush, but don't rush it."
"First of all—you haven’t finished."
As Vir spoke, he pulled out the vacuum cleaner from earlier.
He was worried that if the leftovers dropped on the ground, they’d be hard to find.
If the system judged it as incomplete because of that, wouldn’t it be a total waste?
As he opened the bottom of the vacuum...
The little snacks from earlier were still lying there peacefully.
Waiting for their rightful owner to claim them.
Rayleigh nearly blacked out on the spot.
Finished...?
This is what counts as finished?!
Are you serious with these rules?!
“Can’t you just let it slide a little?”
Rayleigh held his head and sighed helplessly.
“If you don’t finish, it won’t work. Everything you just ate would be for nothing!”
Gotta admit—
Vir's words did work.
Rayleigh immediately recalled the torture he'd just endured.
No way!
That suffering can’t be for nothing!
He’d come this far!
What couldn’t he overcome?
What was he afraid of? He'd already eaten so much!
Just do it!
But what Rayleigh didn’t know... was that beyond this suffering, even greater torment awaited him.
Regardless, he still picked up the small container from the vacuum cleaner.
Staring at the "delicious" filling inside, he hesitated for a moment — before tipping it all into his mouth in one go.
The flavor hit him like a freight train—nearly knocking him out cold!
Even though he’d eaten a ton just now...
Most of it barely touched his tongue.
Just slurped down without a taste.
But now?
Back to square one.
It was just as hard to stomach as before.
The taste was brutal.
Just as he was about to spit it out...
“If you spit it out, you’ll have to eat that too.”
Vir's voice echoed again right in his ear.
Rayleigh realized he couldn’t afford to back out.
His injuries really weren’t getting better on their own.
At this point, he couldn’t even feel his lower body.
That punch from Akainu had shattered his spine.
His lower half was completely numb.
If he didn’t get treated...
What kind of retirement would he even have?!
With that thought, Rayleigh steeled himself, clenched his teeth, and—
With a face twisted in agony—
Gulp.
He swallowed it all.
As the taste finally faded, a faint smile appeared on Rayleigh’s face.
He did it!
This old man did it!
If that Whitebeard bastard could handle it, the Roger Pirates can too!
Rayleigh felt a bit of pride swelling in his heart.
But just then...
"Excuse me, please lick the plate clean too."
Vir stood there with the plate in hand, looking straight at Rayleigh.
That clear gaze, that innocent tone—like a polite waiter.
But the words shattered Rayleigh’s resolve.
He looked at the mess on the plate...
His lips couldn’t help but twitch.
[Ding! Congratulations, Host! You’ve earned 100,000 negative points!]
This is insane...
Even Yamato couldn’t stand watching anymore.
“Vir... isn’t this a bit too much?”
She couldn’t help but speak up.
Just moments ago, she’d found Rayleigh annoying.
But now—even she was stepping in to plead.
That alone showed how unbearable it had gotten for Rayleigh.
Rayleigh instantly warmed up to Yamato upon hearing her speak.
But then Vir’s words crushed his hope again.
“If you don’t finish, it won’t work.”
The exact same reason.
The exact same scenario.
So... eat or not?
If he doesn’t eat it, everything will be wasted.
If he does...
Damn it!
Why does it feel like this brat is setting him up?
But then again... Vir did say all this from the start.
After a brief struggle, Rayleigh picked up the plate and started “cleaning” it.
Same nasty taste.
But this time, Rayleigh was noticeably smoother.
Eat enough of something, and you get used to it.
As the plate was licked spotless...
Rayleigh’s injuries began to heal slightly.
The gash on his shoulder had almost completely faded.
Even the tiny holes from Kizaru’s attack were gone.
The miraculous result made Rayleigh’s eyes go wide.
What the hell?
It actually worked?!
Wait, no...
Why was he even surprised?
Shouldn’t he be surprised if it hadn’t worked?
But... healing by eating shit? That’s just absurd!
He’d lived a long life and seen all kinds of things.
But this? This was a first.
This old man was the victim here!
Could it really be as Vir claimed?
That this was some kind of medicine he’d made?
Looking at the situation now—that seemed like the only possibility.
Damn, that made it even crazier!
What kind of sane person makes medicine that looks like this?!
If he said Vir was a shit-tier doctor, the results would say otherwise.
But if he said Vir was a genius doctor... the medicine looked like literal shit.
What the hell goes through this kid’s head?!
And he even wrapped it in large intestines.
Damn crazy bastard... he might actually be a genius.
The results were speaking for themselves.
Injuries like these would normally take months to heal—if they ever did at all.
At his age, the body just doesn’t recover like it used to.
Permanent damage was almost guaranteed.
But now?
Rayleigh stared at his shoulder, where not even a scar remained.
The surprise on his face just wouldn’t go away.
Unconvinced, he raised his arm and punched himself in the shoulder.
Thud. A dull thump.
No pain at all.
He could raise his arm, move it freely—no restriction.
A medical miracle!
He was healed this fast?!
Robin and Chopper didn’t seem surprised.
Yamato was shocked, but still took it in stride.
After all, she had been a victim once before.
Compared to drinking her own blood until she nearly burst, eating something disgusting to heal wasn’t that shocking.
Marco was the same.
He’d seen a lot too.
He’d already been through two rounds of this madness.
This kind of weirdness didn’t faze him anymore.
But for an eight-year-old girl, this was mind-blowing.
How was he healed?
Just like that?
After eating that disgusting, foul pile?
What kind of messed-up treatment is this?
And it actually worked?
Kuma had taken her to see many doctors before.
But something like this?
She’d never even heard of it.
In that moment, her worldview took a little hit...
Seeing the look in Rayleigh’s eyes, Vir smiled knowingly.
Good.
This was perfect.
Old Ray’s cooperation level: MAX!
Next up—apply some ointment, give him a shot, and the rewards should roll in.
At this rate, Rayleigh’s psychological trauma was guaranteed.
Now the only question is, what kind of ability will come?
Conqueror’s Haki is top-tier.
Swordsmanship and Observation Haki are solid picks.
Everything else? Trash.
'Come on, Old Ray. Don’t let me down after all the effort I put into this medicine!'
