At this moment, Vir, who had been waiting outside the door, pushed it open and walked in.
After observing Chopper's condition for a moment, he nodded in satisfaction.
He was holding a small notebook in his hand, recording as he looked.
"Strength reduced by about 95%. Pass."
After marking a check in his notebook, Vir looked at Chopper.
"Tastes good, right?"
Vir asked with a grin.
"Yeah, it's good..."
Chopper instinctively responded.
But as soon as he said it, he realized something was off.
There was something wrong with this stuff! What do you mean 'tastes good'?!
"Big bro! You used me as a test subject again!"
Chopper protested unhappily.
Hearing this, Vir burst into laughter.
"Hahaha! You can’t blame me for this! You fall for it every single time!"
After speaking, Vir took out a pill and fed it to Chopper.
Once poisoned, only his antidote could cure it. Even he had no other way.
After swallowing the pill, Chopper immediately regained his strength.
"Big bro, how did you manage to poison orange juice?"
Chopper, now standing up, asked with a puzzled expression.
His sense of taste was top-notch.
Plus, he was a doctor, highly sensitive to any unusual tastes or anomalies.
Yet, he hadn't detected anything off.
He was genuinely curious about how Vir pulled it off.
"Poison? What poison?"
Vir asked, looking genuinely confused.
This completely threw Chopper off.
He had just collapsed after drinking it.
If that wasn’t poisoning, then what was it?!
"You didn’t actually think what you drank was orange juice, did you?"
Vir spoke again.
Chopper was even more confused.
What did he mean? That was obviously orange juice!
You can’t doubt a reindeer's sense of taste!
Just as he was about to argue, Vir revealed the truth.
"What you drank just now? I didn’t add a single drop of orange juice. That entire bottle was pure orange-flavored poison."
That’s right. It was all poison.
Making poison colorless and tasteless, then going through the effort to secretly add it to someone’s food or drink?
Vir thought that was a waste of time.
So, he skipped the whole poisoning process!
For this, Vir even made a variety of flavors.
Tea, liquor, water, various fruit juices, milk.
A whole assortment.
Ensuring there was something for everyone.
To make sure people would eagerly take a full gulp of his delicious poison, Vir put in a lot of effort.
Even Sanji’s cooking knowledge played a big role in refining the flavors.
Otherwise, Chopper wouldn’t have instinctively said it was tasty.
Especially the liquor he made.
If he uncorked it and let Zoro take a whiff...
Even if Vir told him it was poison, Zoro might still sneak a sip.
His experience with famous liquors from his previous life made his alcohol-based poisons especially successful.
Vir was confident that no true drinker could resist them.
"Wait!! It’s all poison?! Then am I... am I going to die?!"
Chopper looked at the bottle of "orange juice" in his hand in sheer terror!
He hesitated to throw it away, fearing that Vir might still need it.
His torn expression was rather amusing.
"I just gave you the antidote. You’re fine. Keep that bottle. If you ever find someone annoying on the ship, let them have a sip."
Saying that, Vir turned and walked out.
Leaving behind a bewildered Chopper.
Did big bro just say... give it to someone to drink?
...
Outside, Vir saw Luffy and the others packing up the gold.
The ship had already docked, and Nami was eager to exchange it for money.
"Once we exchange the money, we’re buying lots and lots of meat!"
"Got it! Hurry up and finish packing!"
Vir had reshaped the gold into small, manageable pieces.
They were stuffing them into sacks.
Noticing Vir stepping out, everyone turned to look at him.
"Oi! Vir! Is your poison ready?! Need me to taste it for you?!"
Luffy asked excitedly.
The others immediately gave him a thumbs-up in unison.
Respect. You’re truly fearless.
"No need. Chopper already tested it for me. I’m very satisfied with the results."
Vir said with a grin.
Chopper?
Alright, that poor reindeer really had it rough.
He was always getting pranked by Vir...
The group silently mourned for Chopper for a few seconds.
"Oh, right, Vir! Chopper mentioned you’d be busy for the next couple of days. Is that true?"
Usopp, who was checking the ship’s hull, asked.
"Yeah, just one or two days. I’ll be back before we set sail. While I’m gone, make sure to take care of the ship, haha!"
Vir replied with a laugh.
"Of course!"
With that, they all resumed their tasks.
No one asked where Vir was going.
If he didn’t mention it, that meant he didn’t want them to know.
They understood that very well—some things were best left unasked.
Soon, everyone split up.
Nami, Luffy, and Sanji went to exchange the gold.
Zoro wandered off to check out a sword shop.
Usopp headed toward the shipyard of Water 7.
He wanted to get the Going Merry a full inspection.
After all, the shipwrights here were among the world’s best.
Watching Robin remain on the ship, Vir entrusted her with a task.
"Robin, while I’m gone, I’ll leave Chopper in your care."
Robin chuckled lightly. "Don’t worry."
With her assurance, Vir wasted no time and turned to leave the ship.
He had to scout the situation.
Yesterday, he realized that Momousagi and the others had likely arrived at Enies Lobby.
So, he couldn’t head there recklessly.
At the very least, he needed to figure out what was happening before making a move.
As for how to confirm...
He’d deal with that bartender who ate the Door-Door Fruit.
Then take his appearance.
Robin’s presence here meant they would definitely hold a meeting.
And during that meeting, he’d find out everything.
Plus, he could directly test out the abilities of the Door-Door Fruit and see if he could master its spatial powers.
Thinking of this, he first changed his face into something unremarkable.
Then, he headed towards the bar he remembered.
Meanwhile, after Vir left, Robin and Chopper also disembarked.
Robin planned to buy some training equipment suitable for herself.
Chopper was tagging along with her.
"Robin, can you buy one for me too~? I can help carry everything back!"
Chopper looked up at Robin with a pitiful expression.
Robin chuckled, patting his head.
"Of course, Chopper."
"Oh yeah~~!"
Chopper cheered excitedly.
In his reindeer form, he started bouncing along as he walked.
But at that moment, far away in a secluded alley, a man in black sunglasses was speaking rapidly into a Den Den Mushi...
