Vir stared at his newly acquired ability, momentarily stunned!
Then, his face lit up with pure joy!
Time control!
It really was time control!
This guy was definitely full of potential!
With this ability in hand, the next phase of his plan was sure to be flawless!
Although the range was small, only half a meter.
And the duration was short—only 0.3 seconds!
Not to mention, there was definitely a cooldown period. He needed to find an opportunity to test it out!
But even with these limitations, it was still insanely overpowered!
This was the sheer strength of time-based abilities!
Now he was already thinking about how to… cough, heal.
Heal Aokiji.
He had to think this through carefully.
He had already discovered a pattern from Foxy.
As long as he applied the right method, the rewards were abundant!
Even acquiring this ability seemed tied to the concept of using the right approach.
As long as he did things correctly, he could obtain the best abilities from someone.
Knowing this, Vir couldn’t afford to miss out on any chance to acquire top-tier abilities.
From now on, every "healing" session had to be optimized for maximum benefits!
Luffy and the others watched Vir, who had just utterly wrecked Foxy, suddenly start grinning foolishly, leaving them bewildered.
"What's up with Vir? Did he go nuts?" Luffy asked in confusion.
"Honestly… he kinda looks like it," Zoro agreed.
Bang! Bang!
"You two idiots! Even if you both go stupid, Vir never will! Especially you, Luffy!"
Nami punched both of them, making them clutch their heads and squat down in pain.
"Those guys were obviously prepared for us! And you, you moron, actually agreed to their challenge! If it weren’t for Vir, you would've gotten us all killed!"
After scolding them, Nami glanced at the Log Pose in her hand and spoke up.
"This island is pretty small. The Log Pose should record its magnetic field quickly. Get ready—won’t be long before we can set sail again!"
With that, she grabbed Luffy by the ear and dragged him toward Foxy’s ship.
Her eyes had already turned into shining Berries.
Such a big ship!
There had to be treasure!
As for why she was dragging Luffy along—
She was genuinely afraid he’d cause some more trouble if left alone.
Better to keep him close.
The others followed, eager to loot the spoils and stock up on food.
Meanwhile, Vir opened the system shop and exchanged for Soul-Soothing Incense!
It was about the size of a lipstick.
Holding the Soul-Soothing Incense in his hand, Vir snapped off a small piece.
Time to test its effects!
After the last lesson, he had learned not to trust these items blindly.
He wouldn’t be at ease without testing it first.
Spotting Chopper nearby, Vir waved him over!
Seeing this, Chopper happily trotted over, his little hooves making an adorable tapping sound.
‘Big bro must be giving me a special treat!’
Chopper thought to himself, delighted.
Vir watched as Chopper approached, then lit the small piece of Soul-Soothing Incense with a lighter.
The tiny piece burned out almost immediately.
At the same time, a thin wisp of smoke drifted into the air.
"Quick! Smell this smoke!"
Vir shouted urgently.
If Chopper didn’t inhale it now, it would dissipate completely.
Seeing Vir’s flustered expression, Chopper’s heart warmed.
Big bro is too kind.
This must be some really good stuff.
And he was letting him have it?
So touching!
If Chopper had known what Vir was thinking…
Vir probably would've grabbed his head and forced him to inhale!
As Chopper fantasized about his big bro’s affection,
‘I can’t let big bro down!’
He shoved his nose in and took a deep inhale!
"Sniff—!"
Thud!
Yup. Instant KO.
No struggle. No resistance.
The kid was out cold.
And within mere seconds, Chopper was already twitching in his sleep.
A deep, tranquil sleep.
Vir’s eyes gleamed with excitement!
Success!
This stuff was powerful!
One tiny wisp of smoke had knocked Chopper out cold!
If he burned the whole thing at once… would Aokiji be able to withstand it?
And he still had second version of the incense, which could further enhance the effect.
The item description said that stronger individuals would have higher resistance, but judging by this test—Aokiji would still be affected no matter what!
That was enough!
Just as Vir was about to combine the Soul-Soothing Incense with version two—
Robin walked over.
She immediately picked up Chopper and gave Vir a wary look.
"You were going to experiment on Chopper again, weren’t you?!"
...
Vir wanted to explain.
He really just wanted to test the effects of the incense.
Uh… wait.
Why did this feel so familiar?
Forget it.
Better not say anything.
—
"Moshi moshi, what's up, Fleet Admiral Sengoku?"
Aokiji lazily answered the call, staring at the Den Den Mushi wearing black-rimmed glasses.
"You're on Long Ring Long Land right now, aren’t you?"
"Arara~ Who leaked my location~? What a headache."
Aokiji scratched his head.
He already had a good idea what this call was about.
"That guy who defeated Crocodile—Vir—is on that island right now. I’m not asking for much. Just bring him in. No problem, right?"
Inside the Marine Headquarters, Fleet Admiral Sengoku frowned at Vir’s profile.
Previously, they didn’t know—
But now, they had confirmed that this guy was just an ordinary citizen from Drum Kingdom before he set out to sea.
If a regular person could grow this strong in such a short time—
If they let him develop further, he might just turn the world upside down.
Luckily, Aokiji was already nearby. He had reportedly been searching for Nico Robin.
Having him handle this was perfect.
Vir couldn’t be allowed to escape!
"Me? I'm pretty busy~ I heard that guy’s really fast. I probably can’t catch him."
Aokiji tried to brush it off.
But Sengoku wasn’t buying it.
"Too busy? Who the hell rides a bicycle around the ocean if they’re busy?!
And don’t give me that ‘he’s fast’ excuse! You’re a freakin’ admiral!"
Aokiji: "I learned it from Kizaru. Exact same excuse."
"He has a bunch of weird gadgets. I might not be able to take him down."
"Weird gadgets? So what? You’re an admiral! Don’t tell me you’re scared of some insignificant little tricks!"
...
"I caught a cold…"
"YOU’RE AN ICE FRUIT USER! HOW DO YOU EVEN CATCH A COLD?! Even Kizaru's excuse about having diarrhea made more sense!"
...
Sengoku sighed in frustration.
"Fine! I’ll have someone bring you a pair of Seastone cuffs! His abilities will be useless! And once you finish this mission, I’ll approve two weeks of vacation!"
Aokiji, realizing he had no way out, reluctantly agreed.
Sengoku ordered him to stay put until the Seastone cuffs arrived from a nearby Marine base.
"Just do your damn job! Cuff him and be done with it! No funny business!"
Click!
The call ended.
Aokiji looked up, his face full of sorrow.
Back at Marine Headquarters—
"These Admirals, not a single one of them is reliable!"
"And you! Go eat somewhere else!"
Sengoku yelled at Garp, who was munching on rice crackers nearby.
He got angry!
Garp silently moved his chair to the side.
'Hmph! I won’t stoop to your level!'
